Hello, you declined my page, i warmly understand, however, you should understand that my article is clearly promotional-free. In this case, because you don't understand Nigerian references dosent mean you should be immediate to disregard. I spent 2 days doing research, editing and committing. Moreso, the subject is duely qualified, with backup references to which i have referenced. The funny thing is that, you guys only review nonsensical articles which dosent deem fit. With my Other wikipedia account before i migrated here, i and the team at some point are appointed by the National Security Adviser Himself to create a digital presence. We worked on the wikipedia, with valueble references. But a random reviewer like you just trashed the work, claiming it to be pointless. I think its basically getting to a limit of racism and not education bro. I cited atleast 20 references in my recent work and you trashed it, claiming Nigerian references are Ambigous to you, GND and stuffs?? No vulgar, i should have said my mind.
Wikipedia shouldn't be easy to access i understand, but not with legit access. You guys are really making it tough. Please be considerate Amalgoni (talk) 02:13, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I concur with this comment. You claimed the image of Mr. Whingan ‎as your own personal work, but the image is professionally taken. You must disclose your connection now, this should be your next edit. 331dot (talk) 08:08, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I will make swift edit asap, indeed mr whingan is of high image, however, the image is captured by my press team and in terms of copyrights, i have full previleges. However, to conform with the community's standard, i will make reforms and resumbmit, thanks for the advise. Amalgoni (talk) 01:05, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.
331dot (talk) 01:37, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This may no longer matter, given the block, but my cutting of content were attempts to remove duplication of content and promotional phrasing. I have no opinion one way or the other as to whther the draft establisehd notability. David notMD (talk) 12:54, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request to Unblock

[edit]

Dear 331dot, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to sincerely apologize for the disruptive edits I made on Wikipedia, which led to my recent block. After carefully reviewing my activities, I now understand why my actions were considered disruptive to the community. I want to assure you that my intentions were never to cause harm or create disturbances. As a beginner who is just getting to know the platform, I made the mistake of not fully grasping the guidelines and policies of Wikipedia. I genuinely believed that my contributions were valuable, but I now recognize the impact they had on the community. I want to emphasize that the article that resulted in my block was not paid or compensated in any way. Nobody paid me for my edits, and I was purely volunteering my time and effort. I had no ulterior motives or financial gain from my actions. I deeply regret any inconvenience and frustration caused by my disruptive behavior. I understand the importance of maintaining the quality and integrity of Wikipedia, and I am committed to improving as an editor. If given the opportunity, I will make every effort to contribute in a meaningful and valuable way to the community. Thank you for taking the time to consider my request. I appreciate your dedication to upholding the standards of Wikipedia and your role as an administrator. I apologize once again for any disruption caused, and I genuinely hope to be granted another chance to contribute positively to the platform. Sincerely, amalgoni Amalgoni (talk) 21:53, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am not an Administrator. My understanding is that the block was not for the use of image - with its contested copyright question - but your neglect to make clear on your User page that while you had a conflict of interest, you were not an undeclared paid editor (UPE). I have no intention of editing the draft in the future. David notMD (talk) 03:36, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@David notMD what's the way forward now? Amalgoni (talk) 03:53, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I understand what you mean, and i also understood that the image was also a contributor to the block, while the promotional content is the major reason, i take full responsibility Amalgoni (talk) 04:15, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Someone else will review your request, but please explain how you hold the copyright to a professionally taken image(which still had a watermark) and have a press team if you are doing this for free. How are you acquainted with the subject? 331dot (talk) 22:06, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Allow me to explain the copyright situation regarding the professionally taken image in question. The image was captured by my team, and we possess the original, unwatermarked version. It was shared on the our statehouse portal and various .ng domains, which led to other websites copying and posting it. In Nigeria, there is a common perception that local practices do not consider such usage as copyright infringement and that's what led me to use it with the watermark, i never considered wikipedia's terms. While this may vary, it is crucial to acknowledge that global copyright standards exist and should be respected.

Additionally, I mentioned a press team named 'The Prominent Sons of the North,' which is founded by me and fully funded by the North East Development Commission. This association helps provide support and resources for our activities.

Regarding my connection to the subject, I have a mutual relationship with him. Our interaction allows me to have a deeper understanding of their work and perspectives, but now with wikipedia's policy. I have come to understand how the platform works and i highly apology for the disturbances caused by me.

In presenting this information, I aim to emphasize that while there may be differences in local practices, it is important to recognize the significance of international copyright standards. Respecting intellectual property rights ensures fairness and legality in the use of creative works.

I hope this explanation clarifies the situation and demonstrates my commitment to upholding ethical standards. Thank you for considering these points." Amalgoni (talk) 23:12, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
