USRD Inactivity check and news report

Hello, Algorerhythms. We had a few urgent matters to communicate to you:

1. Please update your information at Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/Participants, our new centralized participant list. Those who have not done so by October 20th will be removed.
2. There are important discussions taking place at WT:USRD relating to whether WP:USRD, WP:HWY, or the state projects should hold the "power" in the roads projects.

Licence info for maps

Thanks for moving the maps to the Commons per my suggestion, but it looks like you forgot to include the license info when you uploaded them. You should have gotten a message on your talk page there, but just in case you don't check it as often as this one, I thought I'd let you know.-Jeff ^(talk) 17:37, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Maryland Route 33 map

I noticed an error on the map for Maryland Route 33. The route continues farther to the west and then to the south toward Tilghman Island. The HLR for Talbot County shows the routing of MD 33. Dough4872 (talk) 16:17, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Oklahoma maps

Just out of curiosity, are you using map data from NHPN for your Oklahoma maps? There are some known issues with its labels - a lot of state highways are incorrectly shown. (For example, it appears as if it shows the Lake Hefner Parkway (SH-74) as a city street.) You might want to cross-reference it with an ODOT map to get the correct coloring. —Scott5114↗ [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 20:24, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Well, there's a link on my userpage that leads to a different dataset, but it has some errors too. Stratosphere was able to cobble them together to make something that worked slightly better, though. You might want to ask him about it. (Also, be careful using NHPN data...it includes some roads that are planned but haven't actually been built yet. I do believe the "STATUS" column with value of '0' indicates future roadways. 1 is normal and I think 2 is for ferry routes, iirc. Cheers. Strato|sphere 05:13, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

I-95 (MD)

No; the MD specific interstate shields does not belong here since MD no longer uses specific documents. There is no way to say now is using what shields and when is using what shields. When shields is post doesn't tell how old the shields is. On the back of the shield the black letters is only ID numbers. I don't understand the strong distrust on interstate-guide; sometimes there right just not the proper way. I realize that Maryland does not specify state-specific shields. However, they have been used in the past and some of those old shields are still present. That's why I suggested moving the state-specific shield to the history section - it's not the current standard, but it has been used in the past. - Algorerhythms (talk) 20:56, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

interstate shields issues again

Can you please look at this website and see the map. you see Maryland is shade in black? The black is all neutral shields, pink-purple is both shields types, and blue is all state sields. I tend to follow that map becasue the specs is tough to find. Ltljltlj save our lives finding WV specs when takes me over 40 hours to find specs. if you think the map is wrong contact the person from interstate-guide and ask them to fix it. Don't think that map is wrong, because it isn't interstate-guide is complete website, and is only open to people who made that website.--Freewayguy (talk) 01:08, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

I don't think the map is wrong; in fact, I know it is right, because it agrees with the State Highway Administration's documents. But I still disagree with deleting the images, because they have been used in the past, and are thus of historical interest, even if they are not the current official design. - Algorerhythms (talk) 01:36, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Map error

North Dakota and Maryland

Hi; I'm sorry for beign mean to you earlier calling youh these names even I'm not log in. I thought North Dakota and Maryland also uses both types of shields like Maryland do, so I think they can also use state-name shields in article body just avoid from infobox. They are shade in black on AA Hwy maps, but no on sparse use list. Minnesota and North Dakota still commonly use state-name shields on I-94 like Maryland does on I-95 and I-97. No matter what there is contractor errors everywhere in USA. In California (where I live in) we have contractor errors too. Except in California we must use state-name specific on interstate shields no matter what, though most of them they comply but now the I-5 seems to quite display neutral shields as what I see as update. Missouri and Arizona also have to use specific state name on interstate shields period and most but not all the time they comply.--Freewayguy (talk) 23:57, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

I think we just as well ask undelete for this image. This was my fault for putting pink tag, and I think they should be undelete becuase Maryland actually uses both types of shields like Georgia. Nowhere is all neutral shields or all state shields. Contractor errors happens everywhere.

I think we should start adding state-name shields on Minnesota on article body only once tose shields is made,esp. I-35 and I-94 ones.

I don't really think that whether the state name is on highway signs is particularly important, but I wouldn't have any problem with undeleting the I-68 image. I don't think we should place it in the I-68 article, though, as state-name shields have never been used on I-68 - it was designated as an interstate after Maryland switched to state-neutral shields. Also, about North Dakota/Minnesota, before you make any large-scale changes, you should probably discuss it with people who edit articles in those states. - Algorerhythms (talk) 00:10, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

MD 125/133

I've been trying ever since I created the article Old Court Road to figure out how to create an infobox for a road with two route numbers. The road has is numbered with two distinct designations along different portions, and unnumbered throughout most of its route.Sebwite (talk) 18:35, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
