Antoine Beuger
Please tell me why my quasi-crop page for the composer Antoine Beuger was deleted for lack of notability, considering the fact that the equivalent (and, truth to be told, much larger) article on German Wikipedia wasn't deleted (therefore some editors are considering it notable). Add to that the fact that he is the founder and leader of a group of composers, Wandelweiser, whose page exists right now on English Wikipedia.95.77.105.30 (talk) 16:48, 2 August 2014 (UTC)
- It had not independent reliable sources whatsoever. Only had two sentences and a link to his own website. No sources to assert notability under WP:MUSIC. Other Wikipedias (e.g. German) might have other requirements, we do not go by theirs and they do no go by ours. The German article is better written and has some references from books. Nothing on here. If you care to translate that article and source it accordingly, be my guest. -- Alexf(talk) 17:02, 2 August 2014 (UTC)
Deleted Page
Hi,
You deleted a page called "ClassHack" last week, probably because it didn't have enough sources or because you felt like it was personal promotion. ClassHack.co is not my own personal website and will have several articles written about it, but unfortunately they won't be published until September. Its creators, the co-founders of the company "YouSit", have a had several credible articles published about them. Here are a few of the links to show proof:
BostInno: http://bostinno.streetwise.co/all-series/2014-boston-college-venture-competition-winners/

Please let me know what you think.

Good afternoon,
I ask that you please un-delete the page Simona_Rivero I created. Thank you.
Sincerely, Mavis Brown
Mavisbrown (talk) 03:19, 3 August 2014 (UTC)
- You have not explained why. In order to request un-deletion you have to provide a reason in support of your position. That reason has to follow policy. Have you read the notability requirements under WP:PEOPLE? Have you read about Biographies of living persons? -- Alexf(talk) 11:17, 3 August 2014 (UTC)

Dj D (Nechepurenko)
Please, return page about Dj D (Nechepurenko). Who do you know from the European stars? - Who do I know of European stars? Many, but it does not matter. What matters is asserting notability, specifically in this case under WP:MUSIC. Posting a bunch of spam links to downloadable music does not help. Spam removed. Please rmemeber to sign your posts as required. Thank you. -- Alexf(talk) 16:38, 3 August 2014 (UTC)
I saw you deleted Onvolo
I saw you deleted Onvolo. I would like to context that deletion at WP:Afd. Could you restore the article?Casprings (talk) 03:46, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
- That is not how the system works. AfD is for deletion proposals for articles that do not immediately meet the criteria for speedy deletion and need consensus. It was deleted because it did not assert notability under Wikipedia:Notability (web). It had one paragraph, overly promotional in nature, and no independent reliable sources to back it up, just a link to the company's website, hardly an independent reference. Even if I were to restore it, it would have to be immediately deleted as promotional. Therefore I would suggest, if you can assert notability and have proper sources, to start a new article from scratch. If you are connected to the company please read the issues on conflicts of interest. -- Alexf(talk) 12:06, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
- I am not connected to the company. However, can you cut and paste the article to my sandbox? I will fix the issues with the article. That said, that is how the system is supposed to work. If an editor has an issue with a speedy deletion, he can certainly challenge the judgement. As per Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion, a speedy delection should "have broad consensus to bypass deletion discussion, at their discretion, and immediately delete Wikipedia pages or media." Since I am dispute your judgement here (I think the article could easily be fixed based on a simple google search for WP:RS), you can't just bypass a deletion discussion. That even means if I didn't see it in time to dispute the speedy deletion before the actual article was deleted.Casprings (talk) 16:40, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
- I did not say "bypass a deletion discussion". I said it was already deleted so AfD is not the venue. The proper way is to ask the deleting admin. You did, and I answered. You can always go to deletion review and ask there. Any other admin that feels differently can restore it for you. As I said, there is no value in the deleted article (no notability asserted and overly promotional), but a new article could be written that stays if properly sourced. -- Alexf(talk) 17:35, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

Save the Snail page deletion
Hi,
you deleted my page Save the Snail (reason A7) - it is not (was not) page about web content. It was page about mobile game (which is also offered as bonus for web browsers). Your reason is not valid. Please undo deletion. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Corwin888 (talk • contribs) 21:01, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
- It was deleted for lack of assertion of notability. I reviewed the link (which you did not provide as requested) and the deletion stands. The article did not pass muster. -- Alexf(talk) 23:59, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
CampsitePhotos.com Article Deletion
Hello, I submitted an article this morning about an organization I represent - CampsitePhotos.com
It looks like the page was deleted by you this morning. I would like to kindly request that it be restored. I do represent CampsitePhotos.com but was very careful in drafting the content to not be self-promoting. Also per your rules and regulations I did make it known on my user profile page that I am a representative of the organization. I do not have an interest in promoting on Wikipedia as I do use the website quite a bit and agree that it would not benefit the user base, rather I'd prefer to provide general information about the organization.
It appears that I may have missed the sourcing section. If that is the reason for deletion, I'd be happy to revise the page. If it is something else, please let me know and I will promptly address. As I mentioned I was very careful in the words we chose to describe what CampsitePhotos.com is, so please let me know what we can do to get it restored. Thank you for your consideration Alexf.
Zacbdct (talk) 19:56, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- Besides the advertising tone the article had absolutely no assertion of notability whatsoever. By the way, the proper link is Campsitephotos.com. The one you put does not point to anything (capitalization is important). You did note your COI in your user page but do you understand what this means? -- Alexf(talk) 22:16, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
Deleted page @RealTimeWWI
Hello,
You have deleted the page on wikipedia that I have created concerning @RealTimeWWI I assume it is for the lack of reference, I was looking for them while you deleted the page. Here are some of them:
As you can see there are lot of them including official newspaper like the Italian one "LaStampa"
Please let me know if I am right to consider that it is a default of reference or if the problem is elsewhere.
Sincerely
Arnaud — Preceding unsigned comment added by RealTimeWWI (talk • contribs) 19:42, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
- This is not the place to put references (which were lacking in the article), but of the ones you put here, only La Stampa might be ok, as it does not do much to assert notability except mention in passing (yes, I can read Italian). The rest are blogs or self-publishes sources , and are not considered reliable sources. Please read: Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources to understand. For help you might try asking at the Tea House. Please remember to sign your posts as required. -- Alexf(talk) 19:56, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the note,
As for LaStampa, I think that the israelinfo.ru is also a good newspaper reference, at least this is what I understood through the translation of it. I will try the TEAHOUSE to get info on how many reference are needed.
Sincerely RealTimeWWI (talk) 20:33, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
Deleted Page: Elementary (musician)
Hi there,
I noticed you deleted my page, the reason was that it did not show the significance of the subject. The article failed to mention that the subject has been nominated for a Grammy Award in the past in his work on Rev Run's album for Def Jam Records. Does this qualify the subject for a wiki article?
Thank you in advance. JoeAtHFM (talk) 12:06, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
- It might if you supply ample reliable sources to assert notability and it complies with the minimums detailed in WP:BAND. -- Alexf(talk) 14:39, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
Deletion of Manu Gargi
Hi, I saw that my article of Manu Gargi is deleted. I feel it should exist for the following reasons
- He has a reference in IMDB as a producer, director and actor. This shows the genuineness of his involvement in in Hollywood and Bollywood
- Articles like that of the following mention him part of the text. In case this page does not exist this page may end up with red links or not be able to refer to the persons details
Let me know if you need further clarifications for the necessity of this page.
Regards Amit — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amitwats (talk • contribs) 16:38, 10 August 2014 (UTC) Amitwats (talk) 16:41, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
- IMDB content is user-submitted and often subject to incorrect speculation and rumor. The use of the IMDb on Wikipedia for referencing is considered unacceptable and strongly discouraged. That he is mentioned in other articles is irrelevant. Notability is not inherited. Besides there is no "necessity" of a page in Wikipedia. We only cover notable subjects, You assert notability through the use of reliable sources. IMDB is not one of them. Lastly, please read the instructions. It helps when you supply a link to the article as requested (point #1 in the edit page above), and it would be nice if you also signed your posts; also requested (point #5). Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 18:00, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
NEWAR
Hi,would i ask you why my page is deleted. i think my post is helpful for understanding about NEWAR in brief and displace fake info.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Uck u (talk • contribs) 10:13, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Uck u: Until Alexf gets back, perhaps I can answer, since I was involved as well.
First, I don't see any reason why another article would be appropriate here. Any valid contributions should be in Newar people, as was repeatedly said on the talk page by others.
Putting aside the issue of forking, contributions to Wikipedia must be encyclopedic, understandable, and be verifiable via included citations to reliable sources. Your own research or knowledge of a subject, regardless of accuracy, cannot be used. Contributions must also conform to the Manual of Style, including being written in English, with proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation, so that they may be read and understood by our readers. The text, as it was written, did not pass any of these tests.
If you have specific arguments with what is written in Newar people, I would suggest posting them to Talk:Newar people, keeping in mind that you need to back up your statements with reliable sources. Other users may be able to help edit the article as needed. I hope this helps. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 10:33, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

Hello, Alexf. I see you deleted Tacocat; could you please eMail it to me because Tacocat featured on a MC Kinky record and I'd like some information on them? Even if it is a different Tacocat, I am still interested. Thank you.--Launchballer 12:10, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
- Email is only used for private info. Normally I could userfy it for you but it was an empty article just saying it is a blog and the name is a palindrome. Nothing usable there and it was deleted because of lack of references. -- Alexf(talk) 12:33, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
- Okay, thank you anyway. I have a firm policy that I do not ask for content to be saved to userspace unless I can be sure that it's usable, because if it isn't, I U1 it and that means the history is forever confined to my userspace.--Launchballer 12:48, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
Speedly Deletion of article
hello,
why you deleted my article.. whatever i have written is not copied from anywhere.. all stuffs belongs to us.. I can provide you links from various sites which tell you about BeRoseGuys.. This is not first time any digital media covering this band !!
regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.59.85.82 (talk) 17:19, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
- If you would be so kind as to read the notices you would know the article was deleted for lack of assertion of notability (see WP:BAND and providing reliable sources). You would also have seen that it was tagged as a copyright violation of "delhi.meraparty.com/barrels-soulful-sufi-night-with-beroseguys" which is a serious matter. You would also have seen that it really helps if you post a link to the article and if you signed your post as requested at the top of the edit page. Lastly if you are related to the band you have a conflict of interest which must be addressed. -- Alexf(talk) 17:34, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

blocking a user
Hello, Just a question. I see you blocked the user mandoisland after he updated a link that went to his website. I wanted to say that he did not put the original link up. I'm pretty sure I did. I asked him and other subject matter experts for advice on updating the mandolin page and he noticed the link. His link was better and if I had known about it, I would have used it instead. He isn't running around and putting links to his site all over Wikipedia. I frequently link to his site because of unique material. The question...is blocking him necessary? Jacqke (talk) 22:37, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- Links? A diff perhaps? Please add new sections always at the bottom. -- Alexf(talk) 22:41, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry I took so long to get back. I don't know if I understand what mean by adding a Diff. What happened in this edit (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mandolin&diff=621201251&oldid=621115267) is that Mandoisland replaced a nonworking link (http://www.xtimeline.com/timeline/Mandolin-Methods) with a working link (http://www.mandoisland.de/mandolinenschulen-timeline.html). He happened to be the author of the content on both sites. He did not put the original link in place, but corrected it after he saw that an old non-working version was being linked to. The table at the new link is the same content as the old link.Jacqke (talk) 22:18, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
- I see now with your diff what you are referring to. You may be right but but accounts named after companies violate the username rules. If on top of that they blatantly post links to their own websites, that is spamming and is seriously not permitted. If s/he wants to contest the blocking there are instructionms in the blocking message on how to do so. They would have to explain their case and their reasoning and an uninvolved admin will then rule. Thanks for your interest. -- Alexf(talk) 12:42, 26 September 2014 (UTC)
- Not a company, just a man who took his hobby seriously and used it as his identity. I feel spamming is a harsh judgement, considering the small number of edits he has made with the account. He hasn't been using Wikipedia to systematically self-promote. I'll let him know what you said about spamming and posting about his own website. Isn't there a rule about the name he chose as well (being the same as his blog page?).Jacqke (talk) 14:25, 26 September 2014 (UTC)
- I wanted to thank you for your time and efforts in the last post. Although I wrote a protest, your work in the area is very important, and I know that.Jacqke (talk) 14:31, 26 September 2014 (UTC)
- I downgraded the block per your points. This will make it easier to appeal. The name needs to be changed as it violates username rules. -- Alexf(talk) 14:33, 26 September 2014 (UTC)

I see you recently deleted Project David. I have read User:Alexf/CSD but it does not answer my question. When I read the article I could have sworn it was an article about a product. You though deleted it and said it was a company. A company is a valid subject that can be deleted under WP:A7 but a product is not a valid subject to be deleted under WP:A7. Was the article about a product or a company? If it was a product why did you delete it as it is not a valid subject to be deleted under WP:A7. 155.178.6.11 (talk) 20:28, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

- The sources provided are not acceptable. The first one only mentions it in passing in one sentence. The other ones are press releases, and documentation/reports from conferences where the subject is one of the exponent/creators. These are not independent sources, nor are reliable. Please read : Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources to see what is needed. As per the list of clients, it is not-usable. The subject must be notable in itself, not who they work for. Also, if you have any kind of connection to the company, you should declare it, but before you should read about the issues with conflicts of interest. -- Alexf(talk) 12:30, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

Thanks very much.

Feedback on deleted article Businessing Magazine
Hi Alexf, You recently deleted the article I created titled Businessing Magazine. I am a new editor/contributor to Wikipedia and thought that I had followed all of the rules correctly. I provided an outside source that discussed the magazine and looked at other similar article for business magazines on Wikipedia for reference. Can I add anything to the article that would allow this article to be reconsidered for publication? I am honestly trying to learn and be a positive contributor to Wikipedia and would appreciate any feedback. Thank you! Emohem (talk) 18:08, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Emohem The only references provided were a press release (not a reliable source) and a link to the company's website (not an independent source). Please read the notability requirements for companies. -- Alexf(talk) 18:23, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
Edmondson Scientists
Dear Alexf,
You contacted me saying my user name Edmondson_Scientists may possibly not be legal. First issue, I am the sole user of this account. I am an Edmondson, and a Scientist writing on Wikipedia for the first time about family members who were/are scientists having made valuable contributions.
I am currently creating a new article about an internationally esteemed scientist and family member W. Thomas Edmondson (deceased). I plan to add more information to an existing article about another family scientist Frank K. Edmondson (deceased). I further plan to write articles about scientific achievements by other Edmondson family members. Finally, I plan to write about an Edmondson descendant who is a Low Temperature Physicist with many astonishing contributions in that amazing realm of strange matter! Therefore: since I am an Edmondson scientist writing about many scientists in the family, I thought it a properly accurate "personal" mission statement within a user name. Please don't make me change it.
Thank you for giving me a heads up and opportunity to converse with you. Edmondson Scientists (talk) 03:00, 22 August 2014 (UTC)

- I assume you refer to your user page User:Petershatner (you have not provided the required link). That page was overly promotional, up to and including a spam link to your website. Wikipedia is not to be used for advertising, nor a place to post your resume. The text you posted on your user page belongs in your website or Facebook profile, not here. Surely you can put a line or two describing yourself, but not a full CV or life's history. You also say "All of this was resolved moments ago by an administrator" but though I looked I failed to see what and where. All I see is you had an admonition from an administrator about posting to William Shatner's page, nothing about the issue being discussed here. Unless I am missing something, that is all that is available. As for your user page, here are the guidelines: What may I have in my user pages? and What may I not have in my user pages?. -- Alexf(talk) 18:01, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

Andrea de Andrade
Dear Sir, I made a mistake, I create the first page "Andrea de Andrade, Brazilian samba dancer" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrea_de_Andrade,_brazilian_samba_dancer) and I deleted It because I want to create another page with exact the same content but with other title: "Andrea de Andrade Wikipedia, Brazilian samba dancer" because I don't know how to modify the title. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrea_de_Andrade_Wikipedia,_brazilian_samba_dancer). It is was a terrible mistake. Now I have both page deleted. Is it possible to recover the second page? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrea_de_Andrade_Wikipedia,_brazilian_samba_dancer If not, can I make another page with the same name? This is my first article on Wikipedia, and I apologize for my error. Thank you very much!Leedskalnin (talk) 12:53, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
- Article name changes are accomplished by performing a move. This has been already done by somebody else earlier today at Andrea de Andrade. Your chosen article name goes against the Manual of Style. Her name only is all that is needed unless there is a disambiguation required. If you are new to writing for Wikipedia, I strongly suggest you read the help files or ask the friendly folks at the Tea House. Here is not the for instruction. Looking at the article, I had to nominate it for Speedy Deletion as promotional. This is an encyclopedia, not a place for promotion of a person or a dance. May I suggest you work on the article in draft space first, not in mainspoace then when ready send it to Articles for Creation. You need to understand how Wikipedia works, and we are looking for. Flowery articles full of point of view and non-reliable sources (e.g. YouTube) is not acceptable. -- Alexf(talk) 13:08, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
Ginsberg Gingras page
Hi Alexf. First, I'd like to say that I am new to Wikipedia and I'm learning how to use it on-the-fly. I worked on the page for Ginsberg Gingras that you recently deleted. I thought I had been extra careful not to write in an overly promotional manner, sticking to facts only. I also made sure that all those facts were backed up by reliable sources : the Office of the Surperintendant of Bankruptcy Canada, Press releases taken from CNW's website, etc. So I'm guessing that those parts were okay and that the article was deleted for another reason.
I'm thinking it might have been two things:
- The external links pointing to the company's website and blog are considered promotional, in which case I would gladly remove them.
- I might have failed to demonstrate why I feel that it is important that Ginsberg Gingras had a page on Wikipedia, in which case here are my arguments...
Ginsberg Gingras is a well respected company in Quebec and Ontario, espacially in Gatineau (Quebec) and Ottawa (Ontario) where it was founded. Here are some newspaper articles on Ginsberg Gingras and it's founder(in French):
- http://www.lapresse.ca/le-droit/actualites/actualites-regionales/200812/22/01-812652-apres-les-cadeaux-les-faillites.php
- http://www.lapresse.ca/actualites/200809/19/01-668914-le-syndic-obtient-un-delai-additionnel.php
I did not make any references to those articles because I did not think it was relevant plus I also feared that it might be seen as promotional, just trying to boost reputation.
Outside of it's core business, Ginsberg Gingras is also well known as a generous company. Ginsberg Gingras and it's founder, Mr. Claude Gingras, have contributed to the growth of the community for years, but espacilly French Canadians living in Ontario. In fact, Mr. Gingras as earned many awards over the course of his life because of his dedication to his community. The last award he received was being appointed the to Order of Ontario in January of this year. http://news.ontario.ca/mci/en/2014/01/new-appointees-to-the-order-of-ontario.html
I did not want to get into the details of Ginsberg Gingras' community involvement because, here again, I feared that this might actually be seen as promotion. I was, rather I am still planning on creating a page for Mr. Gingras in which I will write about his community involvement and how Ginsberg Gingras financially contributed to many important causes. In my opinion, it would only make sense that the page to his company would exist too.
Anyhow, thanks for taking the time to reconsider and maybe offer some advice on how to improve the page and prevent it from staying deleted.
Nicolas-L. Horic (talk) 19:35, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
- Article had as external links, the company's blog. That's promotional. Article talked more about the founder (a different subject) than the company itself. Mentioning the "Company's Mission" belongs in a press release, not in a neutral encyclopedic article. All of the references pointed to the company's website, except the Canadian Registry which only shows the company exists. Being "generous" as you put it is meaningless for notability. None of the references really helped to assert notability, except maybe the award and that alone does not cut it. Please read the links provided here. You may also want to ask questions at the Tea House for guidance. -- Alexf(talk) 22:26, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
Deletion of Stäläg 13 (band)
Hi, I would like to respectfully contest the deletion of my article Stäläg 13 (band). This is a page about a significant band within a significant category of punk music. This band is one of the four major bands of the so-called "Nardcore" punk music scene to come out of Ventura County in Southern California, dating back to the early 80's. This band has been performing nationally and internationally since the early 1980's. This band has a considerable discography, including individual releases and compilations. There are other pages for other bands of this genre Agression (band), Ill Repute, etc. I have read the criteria, was in the process of adding references from notable sources, when the page was marked for speedy deletion, and deleted! Can you please un-delete this page so I can continue my work on it within the Wikipedia guidelines? Thank you for your consideration. BME (talk) 03:57, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
- @BME: Userfied at User:BME/Stäläg 13 (band) for you to work on. Please read the notability requirements under WP:BAND. Please remember for the future that pointing to other articles in a deletion discussion is irrelevant. -- Alexf(talk) 11:49, 26 August 2014 (UTC)

Blocked username and page
Hello the User:Quotaintl page has been blocked because the username conflicts with the desired page title. At the time of creation of the page we did not know that the username had to be different from the page we wished to create. We were trying to develop an informative wikipedia about a non-profit service organization that interested us, Quota International. I have created a new username to try and edit the page, but I am unable. Could a please appeal to or request to unblock my account or change my username. Thank you Marina4326 (talk) 16:35, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
- That account was closed because of the username issue. We do not accept user names that denote a group. One user, one password per account only. No shared accounts permitted, for legal reasons. You can continue forward with your new username, or if you want to keep the editing history in the other one, you need to request an unlock and a rename of that account. This requires you log in as that user. I cannot do the rename, only a special kind of Admin can. All you have to do is read the instructions clearly detailed in the blocking message in that user's talk page. An uninvolved Admin will work with you if you explain your intentions and they are within policy. -- Alexf(talk) 17:00, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
Block of User:Mortoray
Hi Alex. Whilst I'm not about to unblock this user without a username change, can I suggest that you consider reducing the block from a {{uw-spamublock}}
to a regular {{uw-username}}
? Looking at his edits, it seems that he deliberately avoided linking to his website on the article page, instead suggesting it as a possible source on the talkpage and explaining his edit. Whilst the username obviously fails the username policy, I don't think this user is here purely to promote his site. What do you think? Yunshui 雲水 14:46, 10 September 2014 (UTC)

If you are involved in a deletion discussion (AfD in this case), read the instrutions and respond accordingly. Accusing uninvolved random users makes no sense and shows you do not have a grasp of the system. Maybe asking at the Tea House will help. -- Alexf(talk) 15:36, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
Regarding the deletion of DiabeTV
The deletion of the content was done so quickly there was no time for letting me explain about it. Here is what i just put on the Talk page: Talk:DiabeTV
The page DiabeTV should not be eliminated because it refers to a company whose efforts are towards helping the people worldwide suffering with Diabetes mellitus or Prediabetes, and also giving tips to those who do not suffer the decease, but live with or know someone that does. Currently, doing a quick check of their facebook profiles (three languages), made me realize they have more than a quarter million followers from Argentina to US and India, and their articles receive good feedback from the Diabetes community.
Returning to the point of keeping the webpage, i asked myself a couple questions before submitting the content and creating the wiki page "Is it a company whose core focus involves helping people around the world? Yes it is... Is diabetes a 3 day decease easily eliminated? No it is not... Does this company's mission and vision have an honest and non-profitable essence? Yes it looks like. The point is that, maybe with some revisions to the article, we can work in a way for people to discover and know more about this company and the works it does, because talking from a personal point of view (i'm diabetic) since i found this page i have been enjoying their articles and newsletters and my wife cooks their recipes and uses their advice. They work to inform and educate in easy terms, there is not much medical jargon and for people without diabetes its easier to read and relate with.
Finally we should look at some facts:
"As many as three million Americans may have T1D. Diabetes currently affects more than 371 million people worldwide and is expected to affect 552 million by 2030. In the U.S., a new case of diabetes is diagnosed every 30 seconds; more than 1.9 million people are diagnosed each year" From JDRF -An organization dedicated to funding diabetics research
Tavob (talk) 17:03, 12 September 2014 (UTC)Tavob
- It seems you do not understand Wikipedia and have not read the deletion policy. Company helping people and "mission and vision have an honest and non-profitable essence" is irrelevant. Notability is, which you have not asserted. -- Alexf(talk) 23:48, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Restore the page en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Pinto which the content of the page:
Mark Capañarihan Pinto (born July 3, 1980) at Morrow Street, Koronadal City, South Cotabato, Philippines. He is a Filipino computer programmer graduated in System Technology Institute Gensan City and Internet entrepreneur. He is known as founder of Mark C. Pinto Computer Sales at Fitmart Mall of Marbel. He opens another business Mark Pinto Computer Shop at Atencio Moncada Tarlac. He also known as one of the person who registered page name Philippine Arena Dome on Facebook, then He processes it to the IGLESIA NI CRISTO Central to become Philippine Arena official Facebook page.
- How is he notable? Wikipedia is not a place for promotion but an encyclopedia and only covers notable subjects. -- Alexf(talk) 23:48, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
Prismatic Thinking
I fully understand why my marketing manager's attempt at uploading a page for Prismatic Thinking was deleted and accept it was a blunt (if honest) attempt at brand awareness, however;
I have just approved a book, I authored, by the same name to be published, have a website by the same name and have had the brand name trade marked in the UK, so yes I am serious about Prismatic Thinking becoming a worldwide approach to employee motivation. I am also happy to wait and have a listing approved correctly, so any advice would be appreciated.
Hopefully, next time.
Keep up the good work

- Congratulations on your book, but please understand Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. As such we publish notable subjects and are very serious about avoiding promotional material and about conflicts of interest. Maybe a while after the book is published somebody will write a piece about it. You should not toot your own horn in WP. That is what your website is for. -- Alexf(talk) 00:12, 16 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi
I am writing to ask you to review your decision to remove the Bengeo Tigers FC link.
I believe the page has significance for the following reasons:
1) Bengeo Tigers FC are a youth football club that has been in existence for over 40 years. 2) The club is one of only 10 FA Charter Standard Community Clubs in Hertfordshire 3) The club is the first Hertfordshire based club - be it amateur or professional -to win a English Football Association national Respect Award. The Respect program is one of the cornerstones of FA policy in regard to improving the game in England. As a result it is a trailblazer in it's Child Welfare policy. 4) I would argue that Bengeo Tigers as a club is significantly more significant to the area than other senior football clubs that have been afforded pages on Wiki. For example Wodson Park FC have a page but have only been in existence since 1997, have had limited impact to the local community in regard to encouraging local children to play football.
On point 4 I would argue that if you are Ok to allow a senior team with little history and limited local impact a wikipedia page, then that should also be afforded to a club with over 40 years in football that has significantly impacted the lives of 1000s of young people in the Hertford area.

AQ Insights
I had recently joined Wikipedia. I had created an account called "AQ Insights" which was blocked. I completely understand that the reason was due to my username and my sincere apologies for that. I have created a new username and will adhere to the guidelines.
Just wanted to check, if you could please let me know if my article also had any issues, so that I can fix it. Just to provide a background behind the topic and the page 'Analytics Quotient', this is a 6 year old company who are into Decision Sciences. I am currently an employee in the Design & Digital Marketing team. Our company has grown in the past years without any assistance, and we feel our employees would be very proud to have a Wikipedia page.
Hope to receive a positive response.
Thanking you.
Yours Sincerely, Elinadas (talk) 18:11, 19 September 2014 (UTC)
- Several issues:
- You have not started a new section as requested on the top of thew edit page (#3). I had to add it lest everything is bunched up and gets lost in the clutter of other messages.
- You have not provided a redlink to the page as requested in the edit page above (#1) to User talk:AQ Insights
- Have you read what the notice says at that page? Have you followed the links?
- You have a conflict of interest.Have you read the handy Plain and simple conflict of interest guide? It is important you do in its entirety. Have you read about the pitfalls with paid editing?
- Your message above tells me you do not understand Wikipedia. You indicate that we feel our employees would be very proud to have a Wikipedia page" which is entirely the wrong thing to say. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia covering notable subjects, not a place for marketing, promotion, or "making your company's employees proud".
- You have posted a copyrighted company logo under an unacceptable license. As you see in the notice there, unless changed it is going to be removed shortly.
- Lastly the article Analytics Quotient was deleted because it was unencyclopedic and purely promotional.
- In short, you should not write about your company unless you understand all these issues. You should not use a second account as you are doing now to write for your company, but instead follow the directions in the blocking message.
- If the company is notable, and there are sufficient independent, verifiable and reliable sources, somebody will eventually write about it. Beware for what you want. Once it is in Wikipedia, it is open for anybody to edit. If there is anything out there that is not flattering, and it is properly sourced, you may not like it but it will be published. Think twice. -- Alexf(talk) 19:12, 19 September 2014 (UTC)

G13 nominated page
Hello Alexf, could you please delete this AfC G13 nominated page - Thessalonia Ford
It's been tagged successfully but it does not appear on any reports for some odd reason. Thanks, JMHamo (talk) 23:38, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
- Done -- Alexf(talk) 23:40, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
- Hi again, it's also happening on GTL Sound Labs. Could you please delete. Thanks! JMHamo (talk) 13:46, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
Talk:La Ronde Happiness is Here Parade
Hi Alexf, thanks for speedy-deleting Talk:La Ronde Happiness is Here Parade. Since I've noticed there have been numerous submissions of this, I'm curious if there is a user/IP that is consistently behind the creation of these articles. Also, I basically had to revert all of this IP's shady edits since they kept adding links to talk pages instead of articles, and the articles that they presumably created (La Ronde, for instance, and Talk:Tom and Jerry: The Steadfast Tin Soldier) are written in the past-tense, are unsourced, but describe events occurring in 2015. I don't think the IP is here for constructive purposes. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 00:19, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
- Mainly two different IPs in two separate sequences. -- Alexf(talk) 12:01, 22 September 2014 (UTC)

WikiProject Military history coordinator election
Greetings from WikiProject Military history! As a member of the project, you are invited to take part in our annual project coordinator election, which will determine our coordinators for the next twelve months. If you wish to cast a vote, please do so on the election page by 23:59 (UTC) on 28 September! Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 22:06, 23 September 2014 (UTC)
I may be completely wrong, but this page
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberoam
seems to me to be
a) a blatent advert and b) may be repetition of a previously deleted page as you and another senior user Amalthea deleted previous talk pages for reason like "talk page of a deleted page":-
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Cyberoam&action=edit&redlink=1
The current page was created a few days after the previous page was removed, probably for the same concerns.
All of the links and x-refs are basically Google fodder for the company's own products, and the use dropped about 6000 words into the article in his first edit.
What to do?
Tumbledown (talk) 19:25, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
I started a SPI report only to find out that there seems to be a older one that could be connected to all of them.
Okay starting here: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Mjnichols, then there seems to be one though that seems to be connected to that user though as he did the same pages Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/HaroldSalasI/Archive. So yeah it just got confusing and I need someone to merge these, thanks! Wgolf (talk) 01:56, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
Memorain page
Hello Alex,
I am Ilias Papadakis and I just saw that you delete the changes of the Memorain page in Wikipedia.
I am the owner of the band and I thought that it was ok to make those changes.
Can you please inform me how someone can update the information that page have?
Thank you very much!!!
Also please in case there is a way to prove that it is real me, please let me know!
Kind regards,
Ilias Papadakis — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rainmakergr (talk • contribs) 19:32, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
- I did not delete any changes to the page (see the diff). What I did was nominate the page for Speedy Deletion on the grounds that notability has not been asserted to Wikipedia's standards. You being involved in the band indicates a serious conflict of interest. There is no need to "prove it is the 'real' you for these purposes. Please read about notability claims for bands. -- Alexf(talk) 20:51, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion contested: Ananth Punyamurthula
Hello Alexf. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Ananth Punyamurthula, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Thank you. Eastmain (talk • contribs) 03:38, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- That's fine. That's how the system works. I saw no reliable sources (IMDB being in the list). Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 12:48, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
Deleted page
Hi,
You deleted a page called "Yaware.Online" last week. The reason is "Unambiguous advertising or promotion". But what about all time-tracking software that present in Wikipedia such as 24SevenOffice, Chrometa, Clarizen? Why do they are exist?
I think article about Yaware.Online also can be in Wikipedia. Also I want to write about Yaware.Online in artickle Comparison of time tracking software.
Will you reopen it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ViraOsidak (talk • contribs) 18:13, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- Other pages are irrelevant on a deletion discussion. Looking at them in any case I see they seem to have references. The page you mentioned Yaware.Online not only did not, but it was also written in a promotional manner which is not acceptable in an encyclopedia. -- Alexf(talk) 18:19, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
Deleted entry in Optical Mark Recognition article
Hello Alex,
Yesterday I added an entry to the list of open source libraries in the article on optical mark recognition. The entry was quickly deleted, and I am writing to inquiry about it,
As the author of the software, I wondered myself about the appropriatedness of my edit, as I explicitly wrote in the Edit Summary. I am not sure, however, in what way my own entry would be any different from any of the others in the list. The software is open source, i.e. it does not generate profit by definition. Furthermore, the entry simply stated the existence of the library and provided a link to the github repository, wtihout any promotional connotations.
I would greatly appreciate your feedback, as I probably lack the necessary experience in this matter.
Best regards,
Giuseb (talk) 05:31, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
- It does not matter if you profit financially or not. Conflicts of interest are a serious concern and yourself pointing to your own website and your own software looks like spam. If you find any other spammy references in the article, tag them as such.-- Alexf(talk) 09:32, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for your response. I have one comment and one additional question. The comment is that the website in question (github) is not "my own". Rather, it is a universally available platform for hosting open source projects.
My question is: how would I be able to tell "spammy" references from legitimate ones? The currently published list is a series of one-liner descriptions with references to external websites that host the software, exactly like the one that I had written. Is my conscious declaration of authorship what sets my own entry apart from all the others?
But then, if any other Wikipedia user had added exactly the same line, would the entry be considered legit? I am in no way trying to be provocatory or confrontational, just trying to understand the specific mechanism and the general phylosophy applied in distinguishing verifiable facts from promotion and spam.
Thanks for your help.
Giuseb (talk) 12:31, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry on the mistype on github. I know what it is and you are correct. Indeed as the COI page indicates it is the connection to your own software that is an issue. If a third party writes an article about it and asserts notability then it is fine. Just an external link is spammy as Wikipedia is not a collection of links. Links to universities or museums that show examples of objects, ideas, code, or whatever are generally fine. Links pointing to software or other products, commercial or not, as examples are a concern. Whewn in doubt, put a question on the article's Talk Page or ask the friendly folks at the Tea House. -- Alexf(talk) 12:39, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
I think I am getting a better understanding of the overarching issue, thanks for assisting. I hope I am not abusing your patience by asking another follow-up question. Clearly, the issue of notability is crucial and delicate in Wikipedia. But surely the threshold for devoting a page to a subject cannot be the same as that for referencing/mentioning the same subject in a more general page. Or is it? Thanks again,
Giuseb (talk) 15:29, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
- Notability is very important, for articles, and for links. You should also read the Five Pillars of Wikipedia to understand. The best place for questions is at the Tea House. -- Alexf(talk) 15:38, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
Just a quick note, I've heard of Lathams from holidaying in the Norfolk Broads, and was working on seeing if this article had enough reliable sources to be saved when it was deleted as A7. It's not a department store at all, but a cheap discount shop like the more famous Roys of Wroxham. For now I've added a note about Lathams from a book source to Potter Heigham itself and commuted this article down to a redirect. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:46, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
- Ok. Thanks for the info. -- Alexf(talk) 09:49, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
