Anne Taintor
Alexf, you chose to delete the info about this artistic person. The humour that this woman provides U.S. is VERY funny and informative. While it is true that she sells articles with her humour on it, that is NOT different from an artist that sells painting, and litho's of them. Nor is it different from photographers who (C) their work. IF you merely do not like her, her work, or women in general (that's a joke Alexf) please reconsider your mistaken decision and restore Anne article. 71.223.44.95 (talk) 22:34, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- I don't find your comments funny nor do I get the joke. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia not a joking place. I could care less about your opinion. I do not know the woman and as you have not provided a link to the article (as requested at the top of the edit page), I've no idea what you are talking about. I looked at the last 1500 deletions (that's several pages) and could not find it. If you want an honest opinion on one of my deletions you have to simplify the work of finding the article. There are simply too many to look at and the last 1500 did not provide a hit on the supplied name. If it is indeed an article you have worked on (your contribution list does not show any such article either), then you probably have read the edit summary that went with it explaining what and why was done. -- Alexf(talk) 00:05, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
Undelete Request for Pucadyil Ittoop John
I'm writing to request to undelete the page I was in the processes of editing about Pucadyil Ittoop John. He is a prominent Scientist from India, who has received prestigious Padma Shri for 2010 from Government of India. I work in the field of plasma physics, and am very well aware of the work of Prof. John. I wish to highlight the work of Prof John in the field of plasma science as well for India via wiki page. I request you to undelete the page.
Thanks --Deepak Gupta (talk) 08:42, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
PS: Also, I'm learning wiki editing and do not know how to leave you Pucadyil Ittoop John in red-link in Wiki Beta. Please let me know where I find how to leave the red-link, and not what is red link.
- Restored. You need to make sure you respond to the article when an editor requests speedy deletion and please make sure you put sufficient sources in the article. -- Alexf(talk) 13:06, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

Deleted Article "Solve The Enigma"
Dear Alex
This is my thread which was deleted yesterday en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solve_The_Enigma
I already have a website....... www.solvetheenigma.hpage.com..... as i have also checked that there are no bands or any musical projects by the name "Solve The Enigma" so i took it.
www.myband.co.in/Solve_The_Enigma/ is my another page (not a website).
I was shocked to see my page deleted. Also, i am new in editing here. So it took a lot of time for me to actually do all the inserting pages and making a new one.
If I have violated anything, so tell me as I am unaware.

- It was deleted under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it failed notability requirements. Also you seem to have a major conflict of interest as I'm assuming you are the writer as Enigmalove. If that is the case, I don't understand how can you be "shocked" as you had notices in your talk page to inform you the article did not meet requirements and would be deleted. If you read the linked pages you will get a better understanding of what the problems were. -- Alexf(talk) 13:06, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
dear alex ok i got it. but would like to ask you a final question if you wont mind. just to clear my doubts. i have read that section of what you mentioned. does it mean that i cannot make my own page since its a creativity (music) or anything what it is supose to be. and not recognized officially. kindly answer and share if i am missing somethin. regards shiraz pawaskar. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 113.193.44.114 (talk) 14:49, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
- It is not a question of being "recognized officially" but of asserting notability. If a subject is not notable, it does not belong in the encyclopedia. As for creating your own page, it is not a good idea. If the subject is notable, somebody else will create an article. You can still do it, if you can show reliable sources and follow the main precepts but it is hard to keep a neutral point of view if you write about yourself and it will thoroughly scrutinized. Also, please remember to sign your posts with four tildes. Thank you. -- Alexf(talk) 14:56, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
i have understood everythin n read all the highlighted points. seems to be correct on every part. thanks for ur co-ordination n understandin. its not 4 promotion bt a well resourced database 4 an acclaimed work - recognized n published. anyways, have read the A7 and COI. regards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 113.193.44.114 (talk) 15:08, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
simple question
I saw you on my watchlist and thought I'd ask for some advice, I don't know enough of the wiki formatting to straighten up my user page. I want to re-organize my userboxes but I don't know how to get them into columns could you help me if you are able? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marine79 (talk • contribs) 13:40, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
- You probably want to arrange the stuf/boxes/images in wiki tables. See: Help:Table. You also may want to see some live examples to copy from. You could check many user's pages. For example, here is my Userbox page. Open to edit and look at the wiki code. Hope this helps. -- Alexf(talk) 14:03, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

The Chef's Domain
Hi, you deleted my page on The Chef's Domain http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_chef%27s_domain&action=edit&redlink=1 for a possible copyright infringement from this site: http://livelymedia.ca/shows_and_productions/5/ I do, however, have permission to post this information. Can you please restore my page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Undeadlylike (talk • contribs) 22:32, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
- That is not how copyright permissions work. The site you mentioned clearly says it is copyrighted. Maybe you missed it, it's at the very bottom. If you own the copyright, please read about Donating copyrighted materials. Also, if you don't mind please follow proper procedures and start a new section for new items, instead of tagging intp a previous - unrelated - section. Don't forget to sign by adding four tildes at the end of your posts. -- Alexf(talk) 22:50, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
Additional copyright problems
I have noted three additional copyright problems at User talk:Undeadlylike. These problems have been reverted or otherwise changed. Since they were made by a new user within a few days, I assume that they resulted from a misunderstanding of policy or some other good-faith error. It may be worth keeping an eye on, though. Youth Connections
Please consider undeleting this embryonic article on Youth Connections. I'm in the throws of creating the article via collaboration and created in my user area. The organisation is a notably special organisation, being the most important platform for young people in the Central Coast , northern Sydney to Newcastle region. It runs it's own radio program, runs numerous employment and training projects for young people, is a major partner of the local aboriginal people. Most notably it has created a nationally unique platform for government, schools, community and industry in creating employment outcomes for the youth of the region. Recent evidence of it's importance is at regional TV station NBN at http://www.nbntv.com.au/index.php/2010/02/05/smoking-ceremony-cleanses-land-for-training-centre/
Please allow me to work on this article until it is ready for publishing.

- You did not provide a red link as requested. You realize of course the article was deleted in April 2008? Took a while to find. In any case it was almost an empy article. I don't understand why you just couldn't start again in our own work space. Here's whatever little text it had so it is easier than userfying. (Had no sources whatsoever): "Youth Connections Inc (YC) is a professional Australian not for profit organisation based in Gosford on the Central Coast region of NSW. Youth Connections' catch phrase is Turning Education into Jobs. Specifically YC assists young people aged 13-19 on the Central Coast access employment, education, training and recreational opportunities so they can reach their full potential." That was it. The Faceplants
Hey Alex,
I made a page about the band The Faceplants today and it was deleted. The Faceplants are an up and coming band from Vancouver that is receiving great credibility for what they do. They are getting big, and I thought a wikipedia page would really help them out a lot.
Please let this page be viewable to the public,
Thanks

- I think you misunderstand Wikipedia. This is an encyclopedia, not a venue for promotion. In order for a band to have an article, it must be notable, that is it must comply with WP:BAND. Seems what you are looking for maybe something like a blog, Facebook or other social network. -- Alexf(talk) 04:17, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
Portacel
Hi, you deleted my page on Portacel, I work for this company for many years, this company was in existence 178 years before ceased trading on June 2008. This company was very inportant for water treatment round the world. The PORTACEL name that you may see on the web is not the company but the Brand. The Brownlow ceramic filter candles are still on the market to this day, so Please consider undeleting this article.

Dear Alex,
Thank you very much for reply to me I real appreciate, I am new to Wikipedia, my article for Portacel was for posterity, when the company was trading their web-site had a link 'about-us' and there the was the company's history. As the site was shut down if you type portacel.com or co.uk you will be take to Siemens to purchase Portacel's equipment. Siemens had nothing to do with the original company. As one of only few original members and because the company had for 178 years try to improve the water quality for Mankind I fell is very important to be mention.
If you allow me to re-write I will try to put some usefull links about Portacel.
Many thanks

- Just because other stuff exists is not a proper argument. Every article has to live on its own merits. It is not a question of importance but of notability. The relevant standard to meet is detailed at WP:BAND. -- Alexf(talk) 12:01, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Regarding: Michael Godard Deletion
- A red link is a link to a non-existent page, as for example your user page at the time of this writing. Now that you have provided it, I have seen it was a deletion from June 2008! That's several thousands (and I mean many thousands) deletions ago! No wonder I did not find it there. My deletion in June '08 was for copyright but there is a recent deletion (today: 8 February 2010), as you can see in the linked page by another admin, this one for section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion: Unambiguous advertising or promotion. Have you looked into that issue instead? -- Alexf(talk) 21:11, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Okay, great thanks. It appears the team must have tried to submit a michael page back in 2008. I was confused with the error codes. I will work with the other admin. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
You deleted my page under the advertising clause in the speedy deletion bit. I tried to be neutral when i wrote the piece, but i think i should have started by reading up on wikipedia to begin with. So i'm going to read (more closely this time) the terms and whatnot and repost something neutral about the business, if permitted. Later! and keep up the good wiki work!

- That was a mistake. The article is there. -- Alexf(talk) 11:37, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
It seems like a process breakdown. The author, a newbie, saved the first rough outline by accident before adding any sources. After expanding it a bit they went to save again and found it had been deleted. Even the first version hardly looked like a hoax, and had nothing that could possibly be considered harmful. Nothing to do with living people, no attacks, no politics, no copyvio, nothing like that. Surely there should be some built-in time delay on articles like this to avoid discouraging new editors. Aymatth2 (talk) 15:45, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- Don't know what to tell you. That's something to discuss with the software author or maybe at the Village Pump. There was a creation and deletion on Feb 4, then the article was re-posted as you said and looks ok now.
I don't know either. I encouraged jomillsjo to start the article and there was an instant slap in the face: "Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Calton weavers, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies." Not very encouraging to a newcomer with a lot to contribute. After explaining, I got jomillsjo to try again, but most new editors would not have that kind of advice and support. They would just walk away. I suppose this incident was just a mistake. Mistakes happen, and they get corrected in the long term. We have AfD and PROD and Speedy. A proposal to have a fourth process, faster than PROD but slower than Speedy is not likely to fly. You have much more experience than I on this type of issue. Just something to think about - could the process be improved? I will not pursue it further. Thanks, Aymatth2 (talk) 01:51, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
Here is the text, roughly, that got speedy deleted as a hoax:
Calton weavers
In the 18th century, Calton (no 'r') was a a village outside of Glasgow. It was set up as a weaving centre. In 1817 it became a Burgh and in 1846 it was incorporated in Glasgow itself. The reason it was set up as a weaving village outside of Glasgow was because it was beyond the reach of the weavers craft guild (union). In 1787 there was a massive strike by the weavers - about 7000. Lots of fighting and several left dead. Over a period time between 1760 and 1830 there was also the Lowland Clearances going on. Farms were taken over by the British and labourers fled to the cities to find work...usually in the mills. Life was hard, poverty and disease and desperation were rife.
In 1815 over 4000 weavers and artisans fled the Scottish Lowlands and settled in Lanark County. Many more went on to areas near Kingston and into Peterborough. One wonders why they named the place they arrived at for the awful place they left! However Carleton Place (now with an 'r' and an 'e') and many other names from Scotland set up along the Rideau and the small lake area north of Kingston.
The song Nancy Whiskey, written c. 1960, is based on a not so long-ago traditional song. And being Scots it should be spelled without an 'e'. However it is not (some Irish labels spell Whiskey). And that is another whole debate.
- The current article follows this outline quite closely. Aymatth2 (talk) 01:58, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
I've just declined a speedy deletion tag on the above-captioned article (because as near as I can tell the individual meets WP:ATHLETE) -- my understanding is that you placed the tag there. I'm sufficiently familiar with your excellent command of the relevant policies that I have to ask myself if I have missed something; if you thought it was speediable, there must be something I have somehow overlooked. Is this a hoax? Have I mistaken the relevant policy? Your comments would be welcome. Accounting4Taste:talk 17:57, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- Nah. You are right. I did it before my morning coffee and fully awake. Found the article by chance, with nary a source. Says he placed 14th in a tournament. This prompted me to think of WP:ATHLETE and 14th is not a big deal. I wasn't sure at the time, so I wanted another admin's input, therefore I placed a speedy tag. In retrospect I shouldn't have. Thanks for the heads up. -- Alexf(talk) 18:32, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- <whew> Glad to know I am not the only one who edits first thing in the morning. ;-) I will continue to have my high opinion of your tagging and other decisions. Thanks for your trouble. Accounting4Taste:talk 23:06, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Robsonrecipes
Dear Moderator
I would be grateful if you could delete my user account Robsonrecipes completely. Having tried the talk pages, which were speedy deleted as spam or promotion. Spam is not what what the site is about, promotion either as I am not selling anything on the site.
Clearly an article regarding a website with free recipes and raising awareness of health benefits advice may not be suitable for this website as a portal. Therefore, I see no mutual benefit in continuing this user account. The instruction to leave {{db-user}} to delete the account is not very user friendly as I have tried that but have no pages to attach {{db-user}} to. Would appreciate if you could deleted account completely.
I thank you for your help in advance.
Kind regards

Another sock.
Hello Alex, I'm not really sure what to do as, with what I usually edit, we don't get many sock puppets. I noticed you blocked User:Dsafgohdgfn for being a sock puppet. I very much thank you for that. I believe I have found another user. They have a similar name scheme as the others, and very similar contributions, and I was wondering if you could help me out by investigating? The user is Dsghgdhsghbvx. Whether you can or can't, I thank you very much for your time. --HELLØ ŦHERE 00:55, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- I can't. For this you need a CheckUser which I am not. They can do the work to see the IP behind the user and determine if they are true sockpuppets. Please report them to Sockpuppet investigations. -- Alexf(talk) 01:55, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Estudiantes de La Plata
Hi, I am contacting you for help regarding two non-signed users who are forever reverting each other's edits of the "nicknames" part of the infobox in Estudiantes de La Plata. The latest addresses are 190.191.163.24 and 190.19.27.152, but they change (seemingly within the same ISP).
Personally, I favor the shorter version, but that's not the point. I think the point is that some action must be taken to stop this endless revert war. Maybe block edits to non-users?
Thanks. elpincha (talk) 14:12, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
- I checked and see the issue. Here's my opinion: first, there's not enough disruptive activity yet to warrant page protection. Second, the user(s) have not been properly warned or told to discuss the issue in the talk page or otherwise face a block. I would first warn every IP (even if it is the same user which seems to be the case in some edits). Have added the page to my watch list to keep an eye for a while. -- Alexf(talk) 14:55, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

You deleted this A7 and not as I had tagged it as a hoax. Okay it may not have been a hoax but a google search showed almost no hits. It was certainly not eligible for an A7 though because it was not about an individual etc. etc. Polargeo (talk) 12:32, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
- You may have a point, but I tagged as "No indication that the article may meet guidelines for inclusion". It may be a hoax but it's harder to prove. WP:MADEUP made more sense to me. -- Alexf(talk) 12:56, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Only when I tried to open a similar account on English Wiki I realized that years ago somebody already (mis)used this name, for a short time, and was blocked indefinitely.
Is there a way for me to adopt this accout?

My article ' Hugh Lund'
Hi there partner, just a quick message in regards to my article ' Hugh Lund'. I can see how you may have misconstrued this colourful mans life as a joke or 'hoax'. I can assure you he is a genuine football player, currently on loan to Dungannon Swifts, an Irish premier league team. I just felt as he is such a character and is extremely well known is Ireland and some regions of south-eastern Bulgaria he deserves an article. I would appreciate it very much if you could feed back to me as of what you thought was wrong with my article, if you believe it is not suitable for Wikipedia, I'll take my business elsewhere. Peace out. Pete Washington- 6pm-17/2 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pete765 (talk • contribs) 18:05, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
- No references, no ghits and somewhat screwy text. If he's a footy player/tennis player as you contend, does he muster WP:ATHLETE? Not without reliable sources and it didn't have any. Also, weren't you the same editor that once edited an article for this Lund guy by just putting a nonsense exclamation in it? -- Alexf(talk) 19:31, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
Your a wise man Alex, however I must contest, I am new to making pages. If I put up genuine links and sources of Hugh Lund and mabye a picture, would this article be acceptable? I can assure you this guy in genuine, and is actually very famous however the area of Ireland he is from is sligtly backwards and nobody has any idea how too switch on a computer nevermind create a page,so I have taken up this responsibilty. Best Regards Pete Washington. x —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pete765 (talk • contribs) 19:40, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
- Ok. The issues are simple. You are coming through - I am sorry to say this - as a run of the mill vandal with nothing to contribute to the project. Your last comment to this page shows it. So, this is the deal, if you want to contribute, please read Your First Article. This will show you what you need to know to start on the proper footing. Else, I'll be watching (as are other admins), and you might have to be blocked. We are not here to waste your time, so don't waste mine. -- Alexf(talk) 21:40, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
Locking a page
Hey there, the page I wrote and regularly update is constantly being hit with vandalism. It is getting rather tedious and time consuming to undo all the edits.
The comments being posted are quite slanderous and are libelous.
Is it possible to have a page locked for a period of time from anonymous users or all users until the vandals get bored and quit trying?
Thanks! JoshinWinnipeg (talk) 00:44, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yes. The place to report it is at RFPP. -- Alexf(talk) 02:12, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Hi! You have deleted the Lalo Barrubia article on the following basis:

She is an important Latin American author and the article is based on one that exists in Spanish. It's not about she as a private person but as a cultural actor. I don'nt understund!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.52.33.79 (talk) 12:05, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

you deleted my userpage for "unambiguous" advertising.
I just mentioned what is our site about.
How should i explain who am i in another way?
Please let me know,
Thank you in advance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pokerice.gr (talk • contribs) 15:32, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Christopher Conselice
Hi. You recently speedy deleted Christopher Conselice under A7 (notability not established), even though the article clearly stated that he was the mostly highly cited space scientist of the last decade. He also has a whole load of scientific awards and prizes, though I can't remember if they were mentioned in the article. The article had existed for several years without any previous objections. Any chance you could take another look at it? FTR, I had the page on my watchlist because I happen to know the guy, but I didn't write any of the content. Modest Genius talk 19:48, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- A bit of digging makes me suspect that the speedy was maliciously requested by someone who had recently vandalised that same article (and is on two IPs both in Nottingham). Take a look at contributions & User_talk:128.243.220.22#February_2010. Modest Genius talk 23:38, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- You are right. My fault for falling for it. Restored. Thanks for the heads up! -- Alexf(talk) 03:34, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Found a source for the NICMOS, considering he was the principle investigator, strange he gets no acknowledgement? http://www.stsci.edu/hst/nicmos/documents/handbooks/DataHandbookv8/ And again - I didn't vandalise, the pase just isn't noteworthy 90.199.226.75 (talk) 18:46, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

- Read your Talk page and pay attention to the note the nominating editor left you about it. It explains it clearly. Also please read the notability requirements. Please remember to sign your posts with four tildes. Thank you. -- Alexf(talk) 18:01, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
hey - declined speedy
Hi the speedy delete was not malicious, the awards he has recieved are ficticious and I know him in person. Just try googling his unsourced statements such as most cited professor (I have access to all hard copies of said sources and he isn't mentioned once) Thanks 90.199.226.75 (talk) 18:26, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Just read the above note, I had nothing to do with any vandalism. 90.199.226.75 (talk) 18:27, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Portal
I have worked before in the Argentine Portal at the Spanish Wikipedia, es:Portal:Argentina. One of my main contributions was the "quote of the day" section, that provides a random quote from a number of quotes stored in there (check es:Portal:Argentina/Frase for the whole list). Perhaps we can make something like that in here? However, all the quotes would have to be translated; and also re-checked: perhaps there's a better or more representative one of each one, that I didn't consider by then.
However, I must point that the Spanish Wikipedia has no rules about portal content, much less a system to select good or featured portals. Basically, if something works, it can be used. I don't know if a section like this would be acceptable here, or desirable for featured portal candidates, as I haven't worked at all with Portals at this wiki yet. MBelgrano (talk) 15:12, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
- I have looked at the Spanish version a few times. This one is not modeled after it and is completely independent from it. One feature I am currently working on (has been added today) is the new Aniversaries section. I am looking into efemerides in the es:Portal to gather some content. It is still very empty and would appreciate adding info for any date. I will concentrate on the upcoming days first so as not to show redlinks if possible. As per rules, there aren't any here, because there's no editors top look for consensus. My rule is if it looks good enough (image or article), I add it, else there would be no content. If you could slowly add Anniversary pages and content whenever you come across something worth shoving, it will be appreciated. Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 15:27, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
- I have considered a Quote of the Day section but rejected it as it is too much work to properly add and maintain. I have enough with monthly images/articles and daily news already. The new Anniversary section is easier and does not require as much translation work. -- Alexf(talk) 15:29, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
Deletion of The Klaxon.com
04:02, 21 February 2010 Alexf (talk | contribs) deleted "The Klaxon.com" (A7: Article about a company, corporation, organization, or group, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject)
Dear, sir -
I'm inquiring about the deletion of The Klaxon.com from Wikipedia. This organization has gained ground and is fairly well-known for resources in the emergency management and disaster field. Professionals and nonprofessionals in the field flock to the company for solid commentary and analysis on emergencies and disasters around the world. The staff is full or professionals in the field that have experience and contribute regularly to the company's growth. The Klaxon is a significant mile stone in this field and certainly worth inclusion to Wikipedia. Please consider. I appreciate your time.
Thank you.
Newsuser700 (talk) 04:19, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
- Do you have any independent reliable sources to show notability? There were none in the deleted article, just their own webpage and links to facebook and linkedin, neither one acceptable. -- Alexf(talk) 11:36, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
Argentina Portal
Thank for your comments, Alexf. I didn't know about the Argentina-related topics notice-board, it has enormous potential for many useful interactions (but, first, I guess I'll have to update my previous contributions/pagecreations in there :P). Actually, I listed myself to the WikiProject Argentina last November, but I had not seen any movement there, so I hope we can do better on the noticeboard. As for the Portal, I'll try to give you some help whenever I can. Please, be more specific about what is needed there. Salut, --IANVS (talk) 13:20, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
- Right now what is most needed is populating the "Anniversaries" section. That is adding pages and content for each day of the year. Important events, famous people birth and death dates, important historical battles, etc. so the automatic engine can show them at the proper days. The rule is notable Argentina-related events/people in en.WP articles (no redlinks allowed. -- Alexf(talk) 13:34, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

WHY DID YOU TAKE WHITE HORSE OFF WIKIPEDIA
ALOHA ALEXF: Why did you take that wonderful R & R band Whitehorse off wikipedia in march 2008? That was not nice of you and you always say to be nice, polite and act in good faith. It looks like you violated your own rules. Not very nice of you...
Signed...Mick Mars of Motley Crue(former member of Whitehorse) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.130.248.28 (talk) 05:41, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- Could you provide a redlink as requested? Could you not shout in the title? Could you sign your messages properly? You say your name is Mick and have an involvement with a band. All I see is a shouted message from an anonymous IP. If it was deleted it was for a policy reason. Too far back to search (you are talking thousands of deletions ago), unless you provide a redlink. Then you'll find the summary for the deletion that will give you the answer. -- Alexf(talk) 11:56, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

I was looking at this article with a mind to delete it, and found some references to his art and his various ambassador/consulships - and then I found that when I had added the refs, you had already deleted it!
Could you look at the version I now have in my user space: User:Phantomsteve/sandbox/Gerard Coste - would that be adequate to meet WP:BIO? If so, could you move it to article space (and delete the redirect created!). If not, let me know and delete that page.

Deleted Page: Jay Beyers
You recently took down an unfinished article on Jay Beyers [1] 13:31, 25 February 2010 Alexf (talk | contribs)
His involvement with Asylum films [2], video game Dante's Inferno, [3] and a few other facts still need to be added to the article.
Your reasoning for deleting the article was: "A7 Article about a real person, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject." A quick Google[4], Bing [5], or Yahoo [6] search of "Jay Beyers" provides plenty of support for his importance. Perhaps the article needs to be written a little bit better, but it would be greatly appreciated if you would re-list the article. 76.91.3.5 (talk) 20:36, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
- Your links provided for Google and Bing searches list his website, gallery, IMDB, and LinkedIn page. The one listed a ref#2 doesn't mention him. The one listed above as #3 is IMDB. None of these are reliable sources. I would be willing to userfy if you had an account, but you would have to do better than what this article had in order to assert notability. -- Alexf(talk) 21:00, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
If you would please userfy the account for Jay Beyers [7] the article would be worked on more. Thanks SallyCamel (talk) 18:39, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

- I've no idea what article you are talking about as there are literally thousands of deletions. Here's what need to learn about redlinks. Please do not append text into other - unrelated - sections. Always start a new section for a new topic in Talk pages. Thank you. -- Alexf(talk) 03:50, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Todd Sharkey Deleted
Hello, I recently submitted a article to Wiki on behalf of Todd Sharkey for Congress. I was still in the process of writing it, and figured I would submit it and come back and finish it later however, before I could my page got deleted. I would like to ask a question, and request that my page be put back up. A link to his campaign page can be found at http:sharkeyforcongress.com I created the entire site, so all of the content is original to me.
1) What was wrong with the page that it so promptly got deleted? I would like to know so that I can fix it on this article if it gets back up, and also for future notice.
2) I would like to request that you put my page back up. To help your decision, I wrote a Haiku about it... Enjoy! :)
The Sharkey page done. Forbidden page deleted. Please restore my work.
Thank you for your time, (24.166.73.254 (talk) 01:24, 28 February 2010 (UTC))
- The article was duly deleted for lack of references to assert notability. Note that Facebook and all social networks are not good independent references. Also you are admitting to a conflict of interest. This has the potential of violating the neutral point of view tenet of Wikipedia. I could userfy it for you but not an IP account. -- Alexf(talk) 01:53, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
Whoops. I forgot to login. No I have been very careful to keep the page neutral, and for it to be a informative page in order to comply with WIki's rules. Thank you. (Ryantiger658 (talk) 01:57, 28 February 2010 (UTC))
- Oh. I see now. Looked again in more detail, and saw that a bot had reverted a change adding Facebook and deleted most of the text, making it almost an empty article. Userfied as User:Ryantiger658/Todd Sharkey. The article reads like an advertisement and as-is would be deleted just for it. Please understand that Wikipedia is not a political advertisement site. -- Alexf(talk) 02:06, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
Ok that makes sense. What would you recommend I do now? I would really like the page to be like a biography, and not a politically biased page. (Ryantiger658 (talk) 02:16, 28 February 2010 (UTC))
