The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). IRE "consumer complaints"
[edit]If you wish to pursue this matter any further, I caution you to disclose your conflict of interest before proceeding. If you continue with an undisclosed COI, it will hurt your case even if it has merit. —chaos5023 (talk) 16:36, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you, I have added clarification that I am not the customer that Dartram, the IRE representative, is accusing me of being. None of my characters, at present, are banned from Achaea nor have they faced any serious administrative punishments. I am not sure how I can 'prove' this, but I can provide screenshots of myself logging in, if necessary.
- That isn't really disclosing your COI. An example of that would be, if you are personally a current or former IRE customer who has had bad experiences with and/or lodged consumer complaints against them, making a clear statement to that effect. The idea is, whatever reason you have for attempting to include the content in question that isn't "improving Wikipedia", making that clear so that people can take your commentary with an appropriate grain of salt. And people will take it with that grain of salt, but that's much better than the metric ton of salt they'll apply to someone who obviously has a COI (trust me, it's obvious) and doesn't disclose it. Right now, Dartram is ahead of you that way. —chaos5023 (talk) 17:09, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I thought it was apparent that I was a former customer of IRE; though I've not faced any of the administrative punishments that they claim I have (which means they must think I'm someone else). I have filed a single consumer complaint against them, but the vast majority of the information out there is not me; I was inspired to put the information up, actually, after seeing the number of other people treated similarly. I will make sure that I clarify this, thanks.
- Perfect, well done. That puts you on an even footing with the IRE reps. —chaos5023 (talk) 17:31, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

Awarded for your conscientious participation at Achaea, Dreams of Divine Lands and Iron Realms Entertainment, especially in being both open to discussion and reasonable in accepting the present outcome not being what you wanted, despite strong feelings in the matter. Well done. —chaos5023 (talk) 22:11, 2 August 2011 (UTC) |
