The article Muhammad Shahada has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Per WP:BLP1E. Only coverage is of his death.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DrStrauss talk 18:33, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
2017 Military history WikiProject Coordinator election
Greetings from the Military history WikiProject! Elections for the Military history WikiProject Coordinators are currently underway. As a member of the WikiProject you are cordially invited to take part by casting your vote(s) for the candidates on the election page. This year's election will conclude at 23:59 UTC 29 September. Hi. Thankyou for your participation in the challenge series or/and contests. In November The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There will be over $4000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. If this would appeal to you and you think you'd be interested in contributing new articles on women during this month for your region or wherever please sign up in the participants section. The articles done may also count towards the ongoing challenge. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate and raise money to buy books about women for others to use, this is also fine. Help would also be appreciated in drawing up the lists of missing articles. If you think of any missing articles please add them to the sub lists by continent at Missing articles. Thankyou, and if taking part, good luck!♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:46, 4 October 2017 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Rahbah
Hello, Al Ameer son,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Rahbah should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rahbah .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
Thanks,

2017 Military Historian of the Year and Newcomer of the Year nominations and voting
As we approach the end of the year, the Military History project is looking to recognise editors who have made a real difference. Each year we do this by bestowing two awards: the Military Historian of the Year and the Military History Newcomer of the Year. The co-ordinators invite all project members to get involved by nominating any editor they feel merits recognition for their contributions to the project. Nominations for both awards are open between 00:01 on 2 December 2017 and 23:59 on 15 December 2017. After this, a 14-day voting period will follow commencing at 00:01 on 16 December 2017. Nominations and voting will take place on the main project talkpage: here and here. Thank you for your time. For the co-ordinators, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 08:35, 8 December 2017 (UTC)

April 2018 Milhist Backlog Drive
G'day all, please be advised that throughout April 2018 the Military history Wikiproject is running its annual backlog elimination drive. This will focus on several key areas:
- tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
- adding or improving listed resources on Milhist's task force pages
- updating the open tasks template on Milhist's task force pages
- creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various lists of missing articles.
As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.
The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the scope of military history will be considered eligible. This year, the Military history project would like to extend a specific welcome to members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red, and we would like to encourage all participants to consider working on helping to improve our coverage of women in the military. This is not the sole focus of the edit-a-thon, though, and there are aspects that hopefully will appeal to pretty much everyone.
The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 April and runs until 23:59 UTC on 30 April 2018. Those interested in participating can sign up here.
For the Milhist co-ordinators, AustralianRupert and MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 10:53, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity
Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in more than one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e. as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised, that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions, that you have not been inactive for a three-year period of time, and that you have not been inactive from administrative tasks for a five year period of time). If you remain inactive for a three-year period of time, including the present year you have been inactive, you will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFA. Further, following a community discussion in March of 2018, Administrators suspended for inactivity who have not had any logged administrative activity for five years will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFA. This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. — JJMC89 bot 00:04, 1 April 2018 (UTC)

The commons cat for Maaraba, Daraa can be easily reached on the left side, under the heading "in other projects" where it says: "Wikimedia Commons". Huldra (talk) 20:53, 18 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Huldra: Thank you, good to know ;) Also, I have been meaning to ask if you had any 1596 info on the following Hauran villages: Saida, Muta’iya, Samaqiyat (Summaqiyat) and soon also Samad. —Al Ameer (talk) 02:45, 19 October 2018 (UTC)
- Ok, done Saida, working on the others.. Also, I see that p. 40 have references to "Schumacher, 1886", "Schumacher, 1889" "Schumacher, 1897" and "Butler, 1919", "Butler, 1930" etc. I assume that is Gottlieb Schumacher and Howard Crosby Butler, who both published tons of work on the region during that time. Alas, as I dont have the full citation, it is difficult to find the stuff...if you could find the full citations to the above, I would greatly appreciate it (then we could link directly to the original stuff), Huldra (talk) 22:43, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
- I cannot find anything on either Muta’iya (grid ca 272/212) or Samaqiyat (grid ca 282/204). (Pinging User:Zero0000 for extra check,) If you could give me the aproximate position of Samad, I will look for it, Huldra (talk) 23:46, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @Huldra: For Schumacher 1886, see Across the Jordan. For Schumacher 1889, see Abila of the Decapolis. Still looking for the others. Thanks for the Saida info. I'll update you when I start Samad. I recently started Salim, Syria but not sure if the 1596 daftars had anything on this village near al-Suwayda. --Al Ameer (talk) 17:09, 24 October 2018 (UTC)

Al Ameer son; for every place which is covered by the nla.gov.au maps, (see eg Bosra-map; 22M for Bosra)..it is very easy to find if they have a 1596 entry , or not. I just go on the map, find their approximate grid number, and then search for it on User:Huldra/HA. That is how I found Jabab yesterday.
Alas, these wonderful maps don't go very far east, they stop just after Bosra at about 36°30′E. For finding places east of this line I have to rely on not so good maps...which seem also to freeze my computer, at the present....(sigh, soon time to get a new one, again...).
Anyway, if you could concentrate presently on making new articles about places West of the 36°30′E line, I would be most obliged...(as they say...) cheers, Huldra (talk) 21:35, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

On 13 November 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Bahra', which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that under the Byzantine Empire, the Arab Christian tribe of Bahra' were tasked with guarding the Syrian holy city of Rusafa? You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Bahra'), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Azaz
Hi, do you think that Battle of Azaz (1030) would be ready for an A-class nomination over at MILHIST? I certainly can't find anything in the literature I have access to, but you have access to other sources. Cheers, Constantine ✍ 23:24, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Cplakidas: It appears ready, though its probably worth it to include in the aftermath section that Nasr edged out his brother Thimal from Aleppo following the battle and this may have been one of Nasr’s motivations to seek Byzantine vassalage/protection despite his victory. Ill go ahead and add this. Other than that, I’ve extracted everything I could from the Zakkar source. So I’d say you’re good to go for the nomination. —Al Ameer (talk) 00:00, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
