Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Aesmith13, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Notes

[edit]

Hi, here are my notes:

You're generally doing well here, so there are only a few things that really need doing.

  • Only capitalize formal titles, names of persons and countries, and the like. Things like a general occupation like businessman or the name of an industry doesn't need to be capitalized.
  • Only use Davis's last name in the article, per Wikipedia's style conventions.
  • Be careful with source links - one of the links was to a general page rather than the specific entry. I fixed this and the last two things.
  • The positions and bills section needs to be re-written for style, as it comes across a little like a promotional page. Be careful with things like this, as it's easy to be promotional without meaning to. A good example of how to phrase things is this section on the political positions of Elizabeth Warren.

Other than that, so far so good. Once you fix the phrasing issue, I think that you can move your work live. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 21:54, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
