Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Flag icons and images in section headings

[edit]

Hi Admt999. While I'm sure you meant well, please don't add flag icons (or images) to section heading like you did here because doing so isn't in accordance with either MOS:HEAD, MOS:ACCESS#Image placement or MOS:DECOR. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:20, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Marchjuly, I apologise for the flag use error and thank you for correcting it. I am relatively new to Wikipedia editing so I am not familiar with all the editorial guidelines for the community. You can be assured it will not happen again. Admt999 (talk) 18:33, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No harm done, it was easy to undo. Very few people indeed (none?) study the Wikipedia:Manual of Style before they touch anything. We all learned by crashing into things and from our mistakes. In time you will be the one advising new editors. --𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 19:48, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
