December 2024

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to List of universities in Nigeria appears to have added a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 20:57, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

yes i am sure of the new additions... They are new Universities that are omitted from that list Addjimedu (talk) 21:29, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Library, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Sorry if you were making good faith edits, but please make sure that all material is supported by sources. JuxtaposedJacob (talk) | :) | he/him | 19:15, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Economy. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 21:02, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

National varieties of English

[edit]

Information icon Hello. In a recent edit to the page Gold Creek Dam, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the first author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Belbury (talk) 16:03, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Ede South. - Arjayay (talk) 14:57, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by inserting commentary or your personal analysis into an article, as you did at Ede South. - Arjayay (talk) 14:57, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Ese Odo, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. - Arjayay (talk) 14:59, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistently making disruptive edits.
If you believe that there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 15:11, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i am sorry for ignorance on my side and i apologies for any inconvenient my edit might have caused you.
hopefully my apologies will be accepted and the blocked lifted Addjimedu (talk) 15:26, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You will have to improve your response beyond that. If you wish to be unblocked, please describe how you will change your behavior in the future. JuxtaposedJacob (talk) | :) | he/him | 16:49, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have really been down since I realized that my account has been blocked from contributing to the Wikipedia project. I have taken my time to read about destructive editing and vadalism, and I will be very mindful of both if I could be given another chance and my account unblocked. In the future, I will be more constructive, and I will improve my responses as required.
Thanks Addjimedu (talk) 23:00, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Addjimedu, the two major problems that I've seen with your editing is that you don't provide reliable sources for the information you're adding, and that you lack proficiency in written English. Perhaps you might find more success editing Wikipedia in a language that you're more familiar with? Schazjmd (talk) 16:53, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There were also a couple direct copy/pastes from sources that I had to revdel. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 17:59, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sincere apology for your observations. I have taken my time to study the observations, and I realized that I was guilty. I just developed an interest in contributing to the Wikipedia project through editing, and if you could have observed, I have spent my holiday season on Wikipedia, contributing my parts. I have taken my time to read through the policies, and I will ensure that necessary adjustments are made. I will also consider the option of editing in Yoruba, which is my mother tongue. Sincerely apologies. I am really stuck with Wikipedia contributions to the extent that I wake up wanting to contribute while I sleep contributing. Please give me another opportunity. Thank you Addjimedu (talk) 05:48, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Seems like the Yoruba Wikipedia might be your best bet for editing. JuxtaposedJacob (talk) | :) | he/him | 12:43, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
please kindly help out of this process Addjimedu (talk) 14:49, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Are you blocked on that Wikipedia as well? If not, just use your global login over there. Make sure to familiarize yourself with their policies and guidelines. JuxtaposedJacob (talk) | :) | he/him | 18:15, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
