Unblocked
I've unblocked this account on the technical grounds that the reason for my previous block (a confusing username) no longer applies. To the now-unblocked editor: this is not an endorsement of your previous behavior; please note the comments and warnings from other editors above, and conduct yourself accordingly. I don't think youre likely to get any more renames. -- The Anome (talk) 13:33, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Jewel Man
A tag has been placed on Jewel Man requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Omarcheeseboro (talk) 16:01, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
- I added the context and restored the redirect. I hope that addresses your concerns. --A Nobody 18:36, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Redirects
Why are you creating several articles, only to redirect them one minute later? Why not just start with a redirect? Pagrashtak 16:05, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
- I am laying the basis of information with reliable sourcing that is there in the edit history so that when additional sources are found, editors have a place to start from and build from. --A Nobody 18:36, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
- Why don't you concentrate on the redirect target instead? Pagrashtak 16:09, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
- I figure that I have the information on hand and people are likely to look for these terms, so it's there in the edit history if anyone can do anything further with and yes, I have also merged any relevant information into the redirect locations as well. In any event, as far as video game characters go, that was all I had planned to work on for the day. --A Nobody 18:36, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
- Just seems to me that if you're going to put that info in the main article anyways, adding the same thing to the individual articles and then redirecting them is a waste of time. Pagrashtak 16:35, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
- Again, it's there so that should I or anyone come across additional sourcing, we have a basis or foundation to work from rather than starting all over. Those looking for the terms are redirected where they should go and yet reliable sources that assert notability are already in the history of the articles as well. This way, it's a win-win situation: those who come here for that information have a quick means to find it if they want to find it and those who would rather these characters only be redirected have that as well. --A Nobody 18:36, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
You can't remove CSD tags from articles you've created. Please don't do that again, or you may be blocked for further disruption. Gwen Gale (talk) 18:40, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
- if you want to add info of that sort, a good place to do it is on the article talk page, where it can always be found and wont get in the way. Deliberately making an article history of a redirected article for it is a little indirect and confusing.DGG (talk) 19:50, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

New account name
Why not just register that account and start using it? You're not currently blocked from creating accounts, and you can't be IP-blocked, or you wouldn't be able to edit my talk page, so I can't see any reason why you should not be able to do it. -- The Anome (talk) 18:51, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
- I appear to have been renamed anyway. Thank you for the suggestions, though. --A Nobody 02:12, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Uh.
The fact that you're making redirects to somehow preserve is that EGM said that the eight best bosses of Mega Man 9… are the eight bosses of Mega Man 9. This is akin to a list of the 50 best states in the US. I'm not sure that you're getting your point across, and in the meantime I've removed it as nonsensical. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire - past ops) 08:34, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

- A combination of off-site harassment and frustration with dishonesty by certain editors in various discussions and inaccurate mischaracterizations of me. A few fixated on me in a manner reminiscent of some of the real world harassers and I felt concerned no matter what I did they would only escalate things further. So, I'm not really all that "back," as some of the areas I worked in the past, such as AfDs, I am unlikely to ever participate in (certainly not any time soon) and rather only plan to log on here and there when I have worthwhile references or content to add. As such there may be long stretches when I don't edit at all. --A Nobody 21:23, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

RFAs
Please remember to vote on RFAs depending on what the candidates would do with the tools. It was the idea of voting against people because you disagreed with their inclusion standards that led to all that unnecessary drama last month. Stifle (talk) 18:36, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
- It's tricky. Will a user, as an administrator, be biased in closing AfDs because of an inclusionist or deletionist position? AfDs aren't a vote, so the closing administrator's conclusions matter; however, systematically excluding deletionists, as you might do, or inclusionists, as someone else might do, won't help matters. Overall, in the long run, community consensus will prevail and what an individual admin does is just a kind of guess or expectation of what the community will do if the matter gets noised about. I agree with Stifle. (I don't agree that anyone should be sanctioned for stupid or inappropriate !votes, though, unless the comments were actually abusive, i.e., personal attacks or uncivil. Even if it was a bad practice, it should have been your right to comment on whatever basis you chose. I haven't reviewed what actually happened. In any case, welcome back. --Abd (talk) 21:41, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
Talk page archives
I tried to set up a talk page archive and the first bit were archived at User talk:A Nobody/Archive 1; however, on this page, the little 1 for that page up to is showing up as a redlink and when I click on it I get to an edit page rather than the talk page itself. Why is it taking me to edit the page rather than just the link to the archive? Why is a page that exists redlinked? Please help! Thanks! Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 14:27, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- Never mind, it seems to work now; sorry. --A NobodyMy talk 14:29, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- On a side note, you might want to use
{{Archive box|auto=yes}}
for your archive links. It will automatically determine the number of archives you have so you won't have the excess red links. Pagrashtak 14:50, 23 October 2008 (UTC)- Can you put the proper code in for me? I am not the best with some of that stuff. Thanks! :) Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 14:52, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- On a side note, you might want to use
- I've done it for you. I do, however, feel that your old archives should be linked from somewhere. It would appear that as you're not really "vanished" any more , you are somewhat bound to your previous edits, which includes old talk pages. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 15:14, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- Cool, thanks! :) Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 21:46, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- I only addressed the first part of this. If you want me to add your old archives too then I'll do that. If not, I suggest that you do so yourself. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 14:56, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- When I tried to restore just some of my old userspace items (obviously only those that could not be used to identify me in the real world), I was quickly reverted and had the page protected, so I am under the impression from the admins that anything of note is in this talk page's history and I am not to do or request anything regarding my old userspace, i.e. what's deleted is to remain deleted (if you check the history of my old userpage, you can see what I mean) and I should not link to my old userpage. Best, --A NobodyMy talk 14:59, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- I'm talking about linking to them from here. What you did was try to maintain your old user page as a separate entity. As it has been established that you're no longer operating under RTV, but rather under a standard user name rename, you're not really supposed to do that. On the other hand, given that this is just a user name rename, you're still responsible for your own talk archives. You might want to clarify that with Seicer. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 15:46, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- My main motivation for restoring the lists of nice and wise wikipedians to my old userpage was because I referenced it in many discussions (for example, I supported admin candidates who made those lists and said as much in their RfAs) or put holiday messages on users' talk pages linking to them. Those particular lists had nothing in them that my harassers could use against me or to identify me, and I thought, as they are complimentary of other editors as well, it would be helpful to leave them intact for the sake of all those internal links on archived pages that link to them. I was a bit surprised that there was any concern there as I more or less explained the edit in my edit summary. In any event, the sense I got from emails and on-wiki comments afterwards really seemed to be that I should not overtly connect this account to the old one, as it will only confuse people and cause them to toss out accusations (and even if I make any additional requests no matter how good faith it will generate some kind of needlessly dramatic ANI thread from someone that does nothing to build the encyclopedia, etc.), i.e. that anyone who knows me can see the edit history of this talk page that has been mostly restored, but also due to the harassment issues that are not entirely gone I should still not refer to or link to or edit anything associated with the old username by which the harassers have a reasonable chance of identifying me. If nothing else, invented nonsensical issues of criticism aside, I'm not sure there's much benefit there anyway as I am avoiding the areas in which I ran into conflict with others (namely AfDs; I haven't made a single edit to any AfDs since this account's renaming; rather I'm just adding sources when I come across them or welcoming users who edit my watchlisted pages) and with midterm grading and dissertation draft rewriting just around the corner, my presence here is and will continue to be far less than it was (I expect long stretches of not editing). --A NobodyMy talk 16:43, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
(de-indent) AN, I don't think it's wise to talk endlessly about harassment and your prior username. It's not that hard to figure it out, and talking about impedes the natural gradual loss of interest.--chaser - t 20:41, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

mass-welcoming IPs
Ah yes, about that. Could you please stop your old habit of mass-welcoming IPs? I meant to tell you earlier, but you used to revert anything I wrote on your user talk, or reacted with a defensive barrage of meaningless diffs, then you left, then you returned, then you left again, now you're back again. So I'm telling you now: Having seen it at least twice because I still regularly edit by IP, like I promised I'd continue to do in my RfC: It's a bit annoying even in and of itself; and seeing that you're signing all of them with your username, I get the impression that you're actually trying to advertise yourself. Also, don't you have anything better to do with your time? Why not use that same time to look up sources and help rescue an article? Everyme here, btw. 78.34.134.173 (talk) 00:06, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- Generally, I don't think welcoming new users or IPs is a problem. Other Wikipedias have bots doing it. At least in this case there's a friendly human being to talk to. Anyway, Everyme has a point. "A Nobody" is a strange name to see at the end of a welcome message. I don't know why you chose it, but the 'crats are unlikely to grant you another rename. I suggest you create an alternate account for welcoming and cross-link their userpages for transparency's sake.--chaser - t 02:19, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- I think if I ever created any alternate accounts, no matter how good faith the intentions or how constructively the account were used, someone would cry foul anyway. --A NobodyMy talk 14:10, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- They can take some assurance in the fact that I would block the alt account myself if you used it for anything other than welcoming.--chaser - t 20:41, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- I am nevertheless confident that if I do anything that anyone can even remotely invent a concern about, they will. --A NobodyMy talk 16:03, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Nathan Hale
Greetings! Here you go -- this is the complete content of the article that I deleted (minus a few extra hard returns, and indented one level for readability:
- Nathan hale is the protagonist of the Playstation 3 game Resistance: Fall of Man
- he killed like every chimera in england and then he went to america to win again.
No references or sources. The original creator was Vanila58. Hope this helps, Antandrus (talk) 16:30, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Oh, and I didn't finish answering your question: a redirect would be fine. (I deleted the stublet originally since all the other contributions by that account were vandalism.) Cheers, Antandrus (talk) 16:33, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
- Was there any on the talk page? I see from User_talk:Antandrus/Archive29#Nathan_Hale_.28Game_Character.29 that an IP claimed he was adding a reference to a draft on the talk page for the article, which was also deleted.
