Additional accounts
[edit]
Hi AHatJLL, having multiple accounts for multiple paid editing projects is not necessarily prohibited, but you'd need to do so more openly: Please disclose all other accounts you have access to on the user pages of all these accounts. See the policy against sockpuppetry for details. Your account is technically (strongly) related to LaSalleInvestment. However, no connection between your accounts has been disclosed, despite the earlier very open disclosures on your user page. The connection is apparently unknown to LaSalleInvestment who claims there is "operational independence" where there seems to be less than independence regarding Wikipedia editing. Please return to transparency. I'll block this account and those related to it for now, but I'd be open to unblocking in case the previously commendable transparency comes back. Thanks and best regards,
Block and unblock request[edit]
Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.
Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}} . Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.
AHatJLL (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log)) Request reason: I understand that my account has been blocked because it looked like it might be connected to an account run by an employee from LaSalle Investment, which is a subsidiary of JLL (the company that I work for, per my User page disclosure). Our two companies are separate, and prior December 5 I had not had any contact with the employee at LaSalle Investment. (She reached out via Wikipedia's email function to apologize and let me know about the block.) We work at separate locations but share a network, since JLL is LaSalle Investment's parent company, which is possibly why the technical logs show a connection between our accounts. This is the only Wikipedia account that I have registered on the site. I understand that Wikipedia has strict rules around conflict of interest, sockpuppeting and sharing accounts, and I have always aimed to be transparent and follow all those rules. While two of my now-former colleagues have also had accounts, they also posted disclosures, we did not account share, and we were not active at the same time. Can my account please be unblocked? Let me know if there is any other information I can share to clear this up. AHatJLL (talk) 16:44, 9 December 2024 (UTC) Accept reason: Hello AHatJLL, thank you very much for the detailed clarification, and again for the disclosures you and your colleagues had already made on your user pages. I think any remaining issues with promotional editing or a lack of disclosure are limited to LaSalleInvestment's account, so I'll remove the blocks from JKatJLL, GKatJLL and your account. Feel free to remove these messages and welcome back! ~ ToBeFree (talk) 20:29, 9 December 2024 (UTC) |
Oh, I do have one request left. On your user page, User:AHatJLL, please disclose that LaSalleInvestment works for a subsidiary of your employer, so that the connection between the accounts is clear in case someone wonders later. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 20:44, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi again User:ToBeFree, thanks for reviewing my unblock request and unblocking my account and those for my former colleagues. It seems reasonable enough to me to add mention of the LaSalle Investment employee's account on my user page. I'll make that update in a moment. Good idea and thanks again, AHatJLL (talk) 20:09, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you very much! Looks good to me. I've made the link to the discussion permanent so you can safely remove this section if/whenever you like to, without breaking the link. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 20:54, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
