Thank you for participating in my RfA

I just wanted to take a moment to say "thank you" for taking the time and effort to participate in my recent RfA. As you may know, the discussion closed 66/0/1 and I'm now a holder of the mop. I will keep working to improve the encyclopedia and appreciate the trust which you have placed in me. - Dravecky (talk) 23:23, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

No problem, I am sure you will do a great job! abf /talk to me/ 15:05, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Blanked pages

for pages that have been blanked by the author, such as Colin Feeney, please use the template {{db-blanked}} rather then a nonsense template, keep up the good work, cheers SpitfireTally-ho! 15:44, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

I was thinking what template to use and I decided for the nonsense-one because the "author" was changing the content often, so if he would have replaced the content again it would not have been a valid reason anymore, so I chose db-nonsense ;) Regards, abf /talk to me/ 15:47, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
well, I changed it to a blanked template, if the author had decided to change the content again, then it would have been approipiate to use a nonsense template, SpitfireTally-ho! 15:49, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
Okay, okay, thanks for pointing it out :) abf /talk to me/ 15:51, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

heh, not telling you off (as if I could regarding the messages I recieve on my talkpage :D) just noting it, anyway like I said, good work, I hate NPP and RCP, so glad to see people doing it ;). Hope to run into you again! SpitfireTally-ho! 15:54, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

No problem

No reason to be sorry everybody makes mistakes, really its no problem, I'd expect the same from my other fellow wikipedians. Your Welcome though. HairyPerry 15:57, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Vielen Dank

Thanks for your careful consideration at my successful RfA. Please let me know on my talk page if you have any suggestions for me. - Dan Dank55 (send/receive) 21:54, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

IP-Comment

Out of all the people who watch over wikipedia you are the only one who didnt thretin to ban me from the site or somethin, just for trying to put what i think is right. Thank you i guess. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.60.178.162 (talk) 20:07, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Are you really supposed to tell me adding "Hit em up" to a page is constructive? abf /talk to me/ 20:10, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Yes, yes i am telling you that (and by the way that was my lil brother). I was just saying "what i think is right" because it was said with my computer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.60.178.162 (talk) 20:13, 8 December 2008 (UTC) I suppose you can block me from editing if you want.....................................Well i hope you have a good life and goodbye. :D

I don not really get the point of what you are trying to tell me. By the way, I can not block you due I am not an administrator. Regards, abf /talk to me/ 20:18, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

IP#2

I was just chatting. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.174.9.14 (talk) 13:19, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Please do not use userpages for that. abf /talk to me/ 13:24, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Okay and on that other page User talk:198.60.178.162

What's wrong with this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.174.9.14 (talk) 13:27, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

If you are able to tell me what your comment had to do with wikipedia-content then nothing. abf /talk to me/ 13:31, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Do you usually assume anonymous editors as vandals?

No, I usually assume good faith. abf /talk to me/ 13:31, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Learnt my lesson.

Thanks for your kind words and advice and assuming good faith. 140.174.9.14 (talk) 15:06, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

No problem. :) abf /talk to me/ 15:12, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

wtf?

How did you revert the edit so fast? The moment I pressed save, I had a new message from you. Howcome? How did you detect the vandalism, and then revert it so fast? Do tell.

91.75.70.162 (talk) 19:49, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Perhaps you shouldn't bother then. --Charitwo (talk) 19:50, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
WP:HUGGLE and a high-speed internet connection in common are making the speed possible. abf /talk to me/ 19:51, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

And the reason for Charitwo butting in like this, when it's none of his/her own business?

91.75.70.162 (talk) 19:53, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

I believe it's time for the "I" in "RBI".... abf /talk to me/ 19:54, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Cool. Start the I. I won't bother checking back if you're really implementing it. Bye, Bye Wikicop! May you patroll many, many pages and user accounts. 91.75.70.162 (talk) 19:56, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks!

For fixing my userpage. WadeSimMiser (talk) 14:35, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

No problem :) abf /talk to me/ 14:37, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

I am sorry for my childish behavior and realize how self-destructive it is. I use wikipedia as a resource and will discontinue this behavior. 24.125.35.158 (talk) 15:00, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for understanding what wikipedia is not. abf /talk to me/ 15:02, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

RfA thankspam

Thank you for your participation in my recent RfA, which failed with 61/52/7; whether you supported, opposed or remained neutral.

Special thanks go out to Wizardman and Malinaccier for nominating me, and I will try to take everyone's comments on board.

Thanks again for the trust the community has placed in me. A special Christmas song for you all can be found at the right hand side of this message!

Apologies if you don't like RfA thankspam, this message was delivered by a bot which can't tell whether you want it or not. Feel free to remove it. Dendodge TalkContribs, 17:16, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Cool, thankspam including jingle bells :)))) abf /talk to me/ 15:19, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Your input...

...will probably be greatly appreciated here, given that you apparently supported here. (And if you could translate that support, which appears to have been qualified support, that might be helpful to us as well.) Thanks!  Frank  |  talk  17:12, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

I do not know if there should really be such mesages about RfA's, but okay, thank you. :) abf /talk to me/ 17:45, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
"Such messages"? I wasn't soliciting a particular point of view but rather the opinion of someone who's a member of both communities, therefore possibly having more insight on this particular candidate than most users of en-wiki. Thanks for responding!  Frank  |  talk  17:57, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Yes, you are right, sorry and thanks again for the message wich was very appropriate. :) abf /talk to me/ 17:58, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Rollback removed

I just removed the rollback permission from your account due to this edit. This edit was biting newbies and therefore completely inappropriate. —αἰτίας discussion 18:26, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

I just removed inapropriate content from a page - whats completly okay as far as I know. abf /talk to me/ 18:31, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Rollback is only used for clear and blatant cases of vandalism and not for good faith edits. If used for good faith edits (or even to bite newcomers) this gives cause for it to be removed. —αἰτίας discussion 18:43, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
I still don't see why
  1. Removing that text by hand makes a difference from using the script
  2. We warn vandals 4 (!) times before blocking but remove rollback users of editors with nearly 9.000 rollbacks without a single warning and for yust one squishy case. abf /talk to me/ 20:31, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
There is broad consent that rollback can be used for blatant vandalism only (cf. Wikipedia:Requests for permissions, Template:Rfr/granted). In any case it may not be used for good faith edits and to bite newcomers. Additionally rollback may be removed at any time (cf. Wikipedia:Requests for permissions) if misused — without prior notice (cf. [1]; “Easy come, easy go”). Finally, reverting changes using WP:UNDO or manually gives you the chance to leave an edit summary. Whenever reverting a good faith edit such a summary should be left. Regards, —αἰτίας discussion 20:43, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
(after thinking about that I have to say:) Yes, you are right, I could have done that better, I'm going to be more careful in future. Can I have rollback back please? abf /talk to me/ 21:10, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Okay then. I will re-grant in a moment. However, I have to ask you another time to be far more careful when reverting in the future, please. Please always remember to use rollback for clear cases of vandalism only. —αἰτίας discussion 21:31, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I will do so, thank you. abf /talk to me/ 21:42, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my user page while I was busy blocking all of the sockpuppets. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:42, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

No problem, unfortunately I can not revert anymore (see above). abf /talk to me/ 20:21, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
You can still revert edits using tools like WP:TWINKLE. Regards, —αἰτίας discussion 20:30, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Twinkle is to slow to do anythink when there are tons of huggelers around... but you could tell me wether there's a chance of getting the rollback back. abf /talk to me/ 20:47, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
You are free to reapply at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Rollback whenever you want. —αἰτίας discussion 21:06, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
