We made Progress
Collaboration! | |
Hi a930913: I believe we made progress today. Thank you for taking the initiative to start the sticky navigation proposal. I can be found on my talk page (Vibhabamba). My email address is vbamba@wikimedia.org. Looking forward to continuing the conversation. Vibhabamba (talk) 07:29, 9 May 2013 (UTC) |
Top Right sticky Navigation
I created a Wiki Page for this: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/A_sticky_navigation Vibhabamba (talk) 18:50, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for alphabetizing! Thatpopularguy123 (talk) 09:33, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
Brackletbot, FIX my typos
Alright, I'm sloppy and end up leaving unpaired brackets often. I'm tired of notifications on my talk page. Bracketbot, it's pretty straightforward; could you fix that stuff for me, instead of leaving me messages on my talk page that I have to delete? How often are unpaired brackets really intentionally added? Fix them automatically, don't spam editors about a common error. Plantdrew (talk) 05:58, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
- No bot is currently smart enough to fix broken brackets. No bot will be allowed to fix broken brackets due to a ban on those type of fixes. Each month, 4,000 articles will have new broken double brackets or bracket problems to external links that are not fixed. There are an unknown number of other types of bracket problems. Bgwhite (talk) 06:32, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
- @Plantdrew: Currently looking into the possibility of fixing certain situations. Thank you for your suggestion. 930913(Congratulate) 23:55, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for working on it. Plantdrew (talk) 00:33, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
How was it non-constructive
The rest of the article mentioned feet and/or meters. Americans who read that won't know what how long the metric distance is, so I filled it in. Don't know how it could be considered non-constructive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ttrimm (talk • contribs) 22:50, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
- @Ttrimm: Adding imperial measurements is commendable; giving the measurements down to the atomic level is not. 930913(Congratulate) 23:11, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
BracketBot source...
Could you send it my way? I'm interested in looking into how you accomplished a few things and possibly stealing a method or two. ;) GitHub would be preferable, but my email address is theopolismewikigmail.com if you'd like to do it that way. Cheers, Theopolisme (talk) 01:33, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- @Theopolisme: I told you, (it was you wasn't it?) as soon as you teach me to git. 930913(Congratulate) 01:56, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
BracketBot 2
See "Non-editing actions: BAG approval required?" at WT:B. I've taken your comments at the thank-bot request to mean that you're in favor of changing policy to cover situations like this, so I've started a proposal to change policy thus. Nyttend (talk) 18:16, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
