[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. I would recommend to leave any commas in an article alone. That's a good way to get lots of people angry at you and I think it might actually be in WP:MOS. [edit]Hello, I'm ToastGuard. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Alley Oop, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. -Toast (talk) 20:45, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
- Maybe I could interest you in WP:NOR, it may not make sense but that is because wikipedia is an encyclopedia whose credibility comes from Credible sources. If it were written in public space by a person of credibility then you can include it, until then, unsourced edits will not be tolerated. All of those who complained on my talk page all have the same problem, original unsourced research. -Toast (talk) 12:54, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
Please do not add or change content, as you did at Alley Oop, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. -Toast (talk) 13:41, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
