Welcome to Wikipedia!
I'm Walter Görlitz, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge. Although you're free to perform most tasks on Wikipedia without registering, it's highly recommended you create an account as there are many added benefits. It's private and secure and it's also free, simple, and quick to do.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. If you register an account, you can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you could put a link to it on your user page.
Please remember to:
- Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes
~~~~
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your IP address linked to your contributions page (however, if you create an account, your IP address will be hidden and you will be able to build a custom signature that can link to your own user page), a link to this IP's talk page, and a timestamp. - Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
Sincerely, Walter Görlitz (talk) 20:59, 10 June 2019 (UTC) (Leave me a message)
[edit]I'm sorry I had to revert your hard work. Please keep the list of charts to ten (10), and do not change any without talk page consensus or citing a prior one which gives another priority. dannymusiceditor oops 03:33, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
[edit]Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to For King & Country (band), did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Please stop stylizing titles. There's a consensus on the albums project that we use common English titles. We don't pipe stylization in. Walter Görlitz (talk) 18:21, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
Linking
[edit]I've noticed that you've linked nations of bands in two discography articles recently. Unless there's a close association with the nation (and there are virtually no bands or artists where this would apply) we should not link their nation of origin. This is a guideline for editing across the English Wikipedia project and can be at WP:OVERLINK. Walter Görlitz (talk) 23:54, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Toa Nidhiki05 16:19, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
Please use edit summaries
[edit]Wikipedia is a collaborative project and if you aren’t going to discuss anything, it’s not going to be a good experience for anyone. We have talk pages for every page to discuss things and there is also an edit summary section to explain your changes. Please begin using them. Toa Nidhiki05 16:51, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Francesca Battistelli discography. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Walter Görlitz (talk) 23:28, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
Some advice
[edit]We typically don't include component album charts like digital albums in discographies. The Top Pop Catalogs album chart is also typically excluded, since it's just a way to rank albums a year or two beyond their release. It's not needed. Toa Nidhiki05 01:09, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
Stylizing
[edit]Please do not stylize album titles, song names, and artist names. We do not do that here. Toa Nidhiki05 16:44, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
