Hello
[edit]I know I'm being a nosey mare but I'm so curious about why you don't have an account? Obviously it's not a requirement but I'm sure I've seen you 'knocking around' on another 57 ip. The reason I'm asking is you are obviously experienced, you have a lot of Wikipedia policy knowledge and most of all you are helpful, which is so nice to see.
As I said, I'm just a nosey parker but I wanted to also say thank you for all your contributions. IP's get a bad rap sometimes, and not enough thanks. Knitsey (talk) 21:31, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Knitsey, I got asked that question several times when I was 199.208.172.35 - you can still look through the answers at User talk:199.208.172.35 if you'd like (they're in the extended content collapsed box, along with all the other messages from one of my sordid pasts ). Things many change quite a bit next year when IP masking happens. We'll see. 57.140.16.45 (talk) 21:36, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- Well now I feel like a proper numpty for pestering you lol. Sorry about that. I'm betting you did an eye-roll.
- I do like to occasionally say thanks to ip's that are so helpful. Knitsey (talk) 21:46, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the thanks, @Knitsey! Much better than being randomly reverted.
- Any regular IP editor will quickly learn they should expect to be asked your question a lot (that's one reason why I used to have a FAQ). But we largely hold true to the Association of Good Faith Wikipedians Who Remain Unregistered on Principle. 57.140.16.45 (talk) 21:53, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- I didn't even know that existed! (Although I feel even MORE guilty now). I wish we had a thanks button for ip's, not just registered users.
- I will desist from interrogating ip's about creating an account and stick to just saying thanks. Knitsey (talk) 22:02, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
