I belong to Nankudi Vellalar and I am unbale to understand why you're adding information without evidence linking Nankudi Vellalar with Thevar / Maravar because they have the similar Kilai system. At no point in history, Nankudi Vellalars held the title Thevar / Maravar and instead they were called as Sivakalai Pillaimar. Im nearly 60 years and never found any evidence that they were derived from Thevar / Maravar. Please don't insert any random information without evidence and it will not do any good to the Nankudi Vellalar community. In fact, until 1985, Nankudi Vellalars were legally Forward Caste people with the term Vellalas. It was MGR who helped change the Forward caste to Backward status.
