April 2024

[edit]

Information icon Hello, 223.16.242.216. We welcome your contributions, but it appears as if your primary purpose on Wikipedia is to add citations to sources you may be affiliated with.

Editing in this way is a violation of the policy against using Wikipedia for promotion and is a form of conflict of interest. The editing community considers excessive self-citing to be a form of spamming on Wikipedia (WP:REFSPAM); the edits will be reviewed and the citations removed where it was not appropriate to add them.

If you wish to continue contributing, please first consider citing other reliable secondary sources such as review articles that were written by other researchers in your field and that are already highly cited in the literature. If you wish to cite sources for which you may have a conflict of interest, please start a new section on the article's talk page and add {{Edit COI}} to ask a volunteer to review whether or not the citation should be added. There have been some changes on April 27, 2024. Before these changes on April 27, there are seventeen commonly used linkage criteria listed is this table. The purpose of this edit is to restore back this list to the same list of the same seventeen commonly criteria. No new or extra material has been added. The same source before April 27, 2024 has been used. This is no for advertisement etc.
The reason why this source is used is only because it is the first paper that propose this criterion. For example, if the other papers like Bien, Jacob; Tibshirani, Robert. “Hierarchical Clustering With Prototypes via Minimax Linkage”. Journal of the American Statistical Association, 106(495), 1075-1084, 2011, are used. This paper is the paper that followed the work of the first paper on 2004. If additional paper verification is required, it is better to cite two papers, rather than only the one on 2011. The sole purpose of this change is just to restore the list to be more comprehensive. If one does not like the changes, it may be better to keep the original list and sources instead. 223.16.242.216 (talk) 01:04, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
