Radio Station articles format
[edit]Hi there, I noted you have a keen interest in Singapore's Radio Stations. I wonder are you related to the radio station industry? Also I like to refer you to Wikiproject Radio Station suggested style for Radio Station Articles which suggested You may add properly sourced, encyclopedic content describing a station's programming, but a simple list of a station's on-air staff should not be added. To a reader who isn't already familiar with the station, a plain airstaff list doesn't do anything to help them understand or get a feel for the topic. Describing a station's programming gives the reader a much better sense of the station, its personalities and its on-air style than a meaningless list of people they've never heard of. This means a list of DJs, current and former should not be added as they do not give much information about the topic. With this, I like to suggest a compromise of trimming the article to list the current DJs and the segments which they are hosting. --Justanothersgwikieditor (talk) 07:47, 30 April 2020 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a directory
[edit]Wikipedia encompasses many lists of links to articles within Wikipedia that are used for internal organization or to describe a notable subject. In that sense, Wikipedia functions as an index or directory of its own content. However, Wikipedia is not a directory of everything in the universe that exists or has existed. Please see Wikipedia:Alternative outlets for alternatives. Wikipedia articles are not:
- Lists or repositories of loosely associated topics such as (but not limited to) quotations, aphorisms, or persons (real or fictional). If you want to enter lists of quotations, put them into our sister project Wikiquote. Of course, there is nothing wrong with having lists if their entries are relevant because they are associated with or significantly contribute to the list topic. Wikipedia also includes reference tables and tabular information for quick reference. Merged groups of small articles based on a core topic are permitted. (See Wikipedia:Stand-alone lists § Appropriate topics for lists for clarification.)
- Genealogical entries. Family histories should be presented only where appropriate to support the reader's understanding of a notable topic.
- The white or yellow pages. Contact information such as phone numbers, fax numbers and e-mail addresses is not encyclopedic. Likewise, disambiguation pages (such as John Smith) are not intended to be complete listings of every person named John Smith—just the notable ones.
- Directories, directory entries, electronic program guides, or resources for conducting business. For example, an article on a broadcaster should not list upcoming events, current promotions, current schedules, format clocks, etc., although mention of major events, promotions or historically significant program lists and schedules may be acceptable. Likewise an article on a business should not contain a list of all the company's patent filings. Furthermore, the Talk pages associated with an article are for talking about the article, not for conducting the business of the topic of the article.
- Sales catalogues. An article should not include product pricing or availability information unless there is an independent source and a justified reason for the mention. Encyclopedic significance may be indicated if mainstream media sources (not just product reviews) provide commentary on these details instead of just passing mention. Prices and product availability can vary widely from place to place and over time. Wikipedia is not a price comparison service to compare the prices of competing products, or the prices and availability of a single product from different vendors or retailers.
- Non-encyclopedic cross-categorizations, such as "people from ethnic / cultural / religious group X employed by organization Y" or "restaurants specializing in food type X in city Y". Cross-categories such as these are not considered a sufficient basis for creating an article, unless the intersection of those categories is in some way a culturally significant phenomenon. See also Wikipedia:Overcategorization for this issue in categories.
- Simple listings without context information. Examples include, but are not limited to: listings of business alliances, clients, competitors, employees (except CEOs, supervisory directors and similar top functionaries), equipment, estates, offices, store locations, products and services, sponsors, subdivisions and tourist attractions. Information about relevant single entries with encyclopedic information should be added as sourced prose. Lists of creative works in a wider context are permitted.

Request reason:
I think the block shld not be the case as I am doing edits of most Singapore based pages as i do know what is the present sitiuation of what it shld be like. All my information are all general only and I dont think that I am involving with any other restrictions of wikipedia. I am doing my part to improve the page. If you do not believe pls feel free to check past contributions and check for official sources that related to every edits made respectively so you know what I mean. Also, the contributions made are all singapore based if you were to see carefully. Pls look into it and understand my intentions in a correct way but not the opposite. Thanks!
Decline reason:
You seem confused. It is your responsibility, not ours, to find and provide the sources. Additionally, your unblock request is almost incoherent, so I worry you lack sufficient command of English to edit here. Yamla (talk) 13:19, 10 May 2020 (UTC)

If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

East Coast GRC
[edit]Hello. It's not my intent to delete contributions by users.
Nevertheless, it's still evident that your insistence on inserting every single appointment of the leaders makes the sentence extremely unwieldy to read - it's also grammatically incorrect and not relevant to the text. I cite ST to give an example that it's not necessary to list down every single appointment of the personalities involved, especially when most of them hold secondary appointments.
I am requesting to self revert your own edit until you can come up with a correct sentence structure for the information you wish to include, or cite an article from established sources that does list down every appointment. Failing which, we should take the matter to the Talk page and request the input of other editors.
You have not responded to my concerns that the sentence is structurally wrong, and awkward to read, nor the necessity to include secondary appointments (Minister in PMO is not an appointment), but simply reinstated the text you had inserted a few weeks ago, while I have shown compromise and inserted back additional information I had removed. Please do respond to my concerns.

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at West Coast Group Representation Constituency. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.

Concerns on your editing
[edit]Hello IP user.
Ang Mo Kio GRC
I reverted your revert of my edit on Ang Mo Kio GRC. I removed the second link to the People's Action Party as it's already linked in the first part of the paragraph. In accordance with Wikipedia's policy of duplicate linking, it's unnecessary. Secondly, in accordance with the manual of style, we don't add Mr/Ms/Mrs in front of person's names. We seemed to be engaged in a slowmo edit conflict over these matters and I do encourage you to read Wikipedia's Manual of Style before continuing your edits. Should that not work, we should seek dispute resolution. As you have racked up your vandalism warnings from another prior user (which I generally disagree with), I do not wish to report you to the Administrator's Noticeboard as I do wish to encourage you to continue editing. Please do respond to me here. Seloloving (talk) 23:05, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
Aljunied GRC
I have also just reverted your edit on Aljunied GRC as the sentence is structurally wrong. "Aljunied GRC present days heads by Pritam Singh" is nearly incoherent. You can render the sentence as:
Presently, Aljunied GRC is headed by Pritam Singh...
In the present day, Aljunied GRC is headed by Pritam Singh...
Aljunied GRC is headed by Pritam Singh in the present day...
I would not revert your edits if they are grammatically correct with proper sentence structure, as they are part of improving Wikipedia. This is not an edit war or harassment. Seloloving (talk) 00:17, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
- Looking at the edits, I have to agree. Seloloving's English is correct, yours was not. Appointments
[edit]Hello IP, I note that you have an account User talk:Bringyouaway and are editing logged out. Nevertheless, you have been trying to add all the appointments to the ministers in the GRC pages since last year. Please understand that this clutters up the content and makes the sentence near unreadable. Your lack of sufficient English competency from last year remains.
You continue to add unsourced material and have failed to respond to concerns, continually re-adding them under the pretext that the 'information is correct.' and justifying that the same information on other pages exists. You have failed to provide sources despite numerous reminders, and unsourced material can be removed at any time without warning.
You are also ignoring feedback and refusing to engage in dialogue and compromise on the issues. Per Wikipedia:Competence is required, you are failing the criteria to have: "the ability to read and write English well enough to avoid introducing incomprehensible text into articles and to communicate effectively." While I have done my best to give you feedback and edit your English for the last few months, this situation is not acceptable any longer. Without your intention to improve on your communication and editing skills, I will be recommending for an administrator's attention in the near future. Seloloving (talk) 00:26, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
