note of away
[edit]- From April 3, 2019 until about May 28-June 3, 2019 I will be away. If anybody wishes to get back to me between those dates I will get back upon my return. I say between May 28 and June 3 just in case of flight arrangements and other things, as I am going to Southern Africa.
There are some ongoing issues involving me so between April 3 and May 28-June 3, I won't be able to partake or respond. thanks. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 19:34, 28 March 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Due to the war in Yemen, I will not allow Americans to tell me what to do anywhere on the internet or in person, unless I am in the USA. This is in direct protest of their destroying my home town. this however is not a pass for anti-Americans to come and talk their crap here, I am just refusing all sanctions, blocks and what not done by users born in the USA in protest of them attacking Yemen. I will lift this when they leave my country alone. The terrorists are gone, leave us alone. thanks. Ahab Ali — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.101.61.34 (talk) 22:53, 11 March 2019 (UTC)
also I am blind and can't do in-line citation on wikipedia due to the old-style captcha system not having an audio option, it's all visual and my screen-reader, JAWS for windows cannot pick them up. thakns. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.101.61.34 (talk) 22:55, 11 March 2019 (UTC)
- If you have a concern with Captchas, I suggest you raise the issue at Wikipedia:Village pump. That is a forum dedicated Wikipedia policies, proposals, and technical issues. Please do not raise them on my talk page - I have no power over any such thing. Also, please do not post any more to my talk page. It is obvious that I can not help you with your issues and would ratehr not waste your time or mine. Good luck. --KNHaw (talk) 04:56, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
clarification
[edit]- The reason why I will not take any orders, blocks or what not fro mAmericans is due to th eUnited States destroying my home community in Yemen, where I am originally from. I don't live there now but I lived ther for the first chink of my life. I spent several years near North Brewham in England, then I moved to Canada last year. My reason for not taking orders and punishments (both on and off wiki) fro many Americans is like this: let's say an arsonist burns down your house. You find out that the arsonist is Mr. Jones from down the way. Mr. Jones goes to jail and comes out, supposedly a changed man with purist of motives. Mr. Jones then starts ordering you around through various means. Following you to jobs where he gains high status positions, then when you leave, he follows you. You speak out about this then get accused of hating. In reality, you don't want the man who burned your house down giving you orders or trying to punish you. Mr. Jones represents the United States, the burnt down house represents the town I was born and partly raised in. the jobs represent various websites (including Wiki) and the high status positions represent high-ranking users on all websites (including wiki) including admins, mods and other such people. I don't want Mr. Jones telling me what to do because Mr. Jones burnt down my house. Mr. Hanson (the UK) can tell em what to do al lhe wants as he let me move in with him. All the other people on th eblock can give me orders, just not Mr. Jones. now I trust the UK the most because they took me in, and I live in Canada now so they come sort of second. so there's no racism or xenophobia coming here, nor is there any anti American stuff, I just won't take orders or be subbordinates to any American until this they stop burning down more houses (analogy). so there you have it.
thanks.
- No one on Wikipedia destroyed your home. To lump everyone together has a lot of names: scapegoating, xenophobia, ethnocentrism, racism, religionism, etc. And as regards "orders", there is no constitutional right to edit Wikipedia. If someone break the Wikipedia rules extensively, they will be blocked. Oddly enough, your analogy to the arsonist fits better with those who breach Wikipedia's standards. If someone does so, they are not welcomed back until or if they can prove themselves. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 16:27, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
Way to miss the whole point. should hav eexpected as much, you see my stance on Americans telling me what to do, and because you are American you are mad. Fine, be proud of who you are just don't come after me with orders and what not. There's always British admins and that if you want to send someone on me. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 16:57, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
Seriously, if you really have a problem with me find a British admin and talk to them,
- It is YOU that's missing the whole point. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 16:58, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
This Then explain to me how my analogy works in your favor, arsonist comes burns down your house, you find out he's Mr. Jones, Mr. Jones goes to jail comes out, gains a high status and starts ordering you around. You don't want him ordering you around and trying to punish you because he is the one who burnt down your house. Mr. Jones is the USA, your house is the town near Aden, and you in the example are me. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 17:10, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- You're essentially saying that because some Americans burned your house down, then we all did. Not true. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 17:35, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
I'm saying you guys destroyed my town, and you guys won't stop destroying things in Yemen and you guys won't stop supporting those who are killing us, so therefore you have no right ordering me around until you stop. While Mr. Jones isn't burning my house down, and he went to jail and says he's a changed man, he keeps on burning houses down, and justifying it with "well there are bad people hiding in the houses. no, the terrorists are gone, now it's the USA and Saudi Arabia that are the terrorists in Yemen, GTFO of Yemen then maybe I'll change my mind about the USA. It's the American military and the Saudi military doing these aweful things. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 17:50, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
Alright bunny, alright, let's turn things around. Now, I hope to allah this never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever happens, and I am not advocating for it, this is just an example, a fictional example.
Let's I don't know where in the U.S. you live, but say that you live in Philadelphia. Now, let's say Russia came in and started destroying Philadelphia because let's say they see some Christian terrorists going after Russians and non-Christians. Your area of Philly is destroyed, and you have to relocate to the UK because the Russians are trying to take out all of the USA because of these Christian terrorists. Eons later you join Wikipedia, and one of the admins on Wikipedia happens to be Yulia Savicheva who uses the hypothetical username Nrotherngal1987. Northerngal1987 is an admin on Wikipedia. She comes on you and says to you baseball bugs, stop going around reverting people without providing edit summaries or I'll block you. Now, you're protesting Russia's attacks on th eU.S. and Philly that still goes on, thanks to them funding let's say France, who has decided that the U.S. isn't catholic enough. (just an example remember) Will you listen to Yulia Savicheva? No, you're protesting against the war by not taking orders from a Russian user. You'll engage with her and you'll take suggestions, but you won't accept blocks from her or orders she gives you.
Would you give up this protest just because it's wiki? Even if your protest is due to your longing for your home back in Philly, that you can' treturn to because France and Russia are still attacking the U.S.?
- Wikipedia's purpose is not to promote protests. And when you say "you guys", you're including me. I did not make war on your country, nor did I endorse it. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 18:10, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
maybe not but what I am saying is that this is where I am coming from. and answer my questio nabove about the hypothetical please. if Russia attacked the U.S. and destroyed your home town and Yulia Savicheva became an admin and told you what to do would you listen? no you wouldn't because while she herself did nothing, she likely is prowd of the Russian military. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 18:20, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- There's a process to go through to become an admin. If an admin gives me advice, I listen. I don't bear prejudice against admins based on their country, unless they start to make an issue of it. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 18:47, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- Consider this: I know people who say that Islam is a violence-oriented religion, that all Muslims are evil. And I say that's bigotry. The ones who destroyed the World Trade Center were evil. But the Muslims I've known are peace-loving and friendly. Good or evil is not in groups, it's in individuals. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 18:47, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
So even if Russia attacks the USA, and Yulia Savicheva becomes an admin and tells you to do something, knowing she is Russian and therefore likely would be on the Russia side of a U.S. vs. Russia thing, you'd still listen to her? Look, I'm sure most Americans are good people, but there's a reason why I don't go to the USA, why I prefer to vacation in the Dominican Republic and Jamaica over the USA. It's the same reason why I'm sure you wouldn't vacation in Russia. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 19:23, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- If Russia were to attack the USA, I think Wikipedia would be the least of our concerns. As to vacationing in Russia in general, it would be OK, except that I don't know any Russian beyond "da" and "nyet", and I'd want to be sure to be there the week when summer is happening. :) As to coming to America, I don't disagree that the current administration is hostile. I wouldn't come here either if I were in your shoes (they probably wouldn't let you in anyway). ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 21:06, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
Lol I won't disagree with you about the administration in America, I just want all the crap in my country of origin to stop. I want to go home and be safe. Can your next preident pull out of yemen and stop supporitng the Saudis please? Angola has a lot of oil. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 23:31, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
notice regarding citation requests
[edit]- Until Wikipedia adds an audio option to the captcha spam filter, it is unreasonable to ask me to cite sources inline. I will put my source in the edit summary, and I ask you help me to add them by citing them for me. If Wikipedia adds an audio captcha option then I will be able to do it myself. I can have discussions with people but in th emean time this is going to be in place . SO i'm not unwilling to cite sources, I'm just unable to, so I will put links in the summary. Meanwhile I will start discussions soon with some people. thanks.
199.101.61.34 (talk) 17:12, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- Putting links in the edit summary is insufficient. Put them in the article text, enclosing in square brackets or parentheses, and then someone else can format them in the standard way. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 17:34, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
I go to insert a link and it does the stupid captcha thing, did you miss that? I have to enter a verification code that I cannot read in any way. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 17:51, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- Is there any indication that Wikipedia is planning to implement a voice version of captcha? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 18:09, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
waiting to hear back from people at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals) I wish they would because not having an audio option shuts out blind users. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 18:33, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- That would require their development team to do something. Have they given you any hopeful signs? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 18:42, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
No they haven't. I tried their sollution of creating an account a while ago before I moved to Canada, and apparently my e-mail is associated with another account. To be fair I was hacked in 2015, took a lot to get my e-mail back. I theorize they may have created an account on Wiki but I'm not sure. I've been editing Wikipedia from various UK IP addresses (before moving to Canada) from about 2013 onwords. I used to be able to do the in-line until they captchaed all external links. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 19:19, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- They might have implemented that to prevent the posting of spam links. When you say "they" do you mean whoever it was that hacked your email? If you remember what your account name was, you could check the user contributions to see if there's been any activity since 2015. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 19:24, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
No I'm saying that somebody who hacke dmy e-mail may have created a wiki account, I have no idea what the name is. I get them having a spam filter, no objection there, just have one that has an audio option as well as a visual this way it doesn't shut out blind users. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 20:40, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- You would probably want to create a new throwaway email account, like on Hotmail or something, and use it solely for reference when creating a new Wikipedia account. And you can set it so no one can email you. If I read the Help Desk correctly, that should work around the problem with links, and would probably be your best bet, because I wouldn't count on them implementing an audio version of captcha anytime soon. How would that work anyway? Would it read the characters aloud? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 21:11, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
Some of websites have an audio option on them, where you can sellect an audio challenge then you type in the characters it says, it speaks them over background noise in a distorted voice. Others have clips from old old shows from the 30's and 40's radio times, where you have to type what they say. Youtube them and you'll see what I mean, type in audio captchas on youtube and there are examples of rathe rodd ones. I will look into creating an account hopefully when Harriet gets back from tour. (obviously not Harriet owen) African charities mean you're away a lot. With what's happening in Mozambique means I myself will be going away as I also help out with the organization, I'm helping fellow disabled people. so I'll be away come April 2 and may be back in May. I'll create an account in May when I have several weeks for sure. In th emean time, I have a source for the edit I made to Kether Donohue where I put that she voiced Ethel, the link is in the edit summary. Please don't revert it, it's sourced just not in-line cited. thanks. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 23:28, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
Village pump thread
[edit]Hello, please see my post there. Graham87 01:36, 27 March 2019 (UTC)
- I've replied to you there. Graham87 12:19, 27 March 2019 (UTC)
so i guess I'm a troll?
[edit]so apparently I'm a troll? well, present where you get this from here, and I will address it as best I can. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 01:32, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
Believe it or not this is not the first time I have been accused of something. Remember, I've stated that I lived in the UK after fleeing Yemen. During that time (glad I made note of this) I got accused of being a user called Cuddlyable3 who is currently blocked. No idea who that is but I remember that name, a bit of an odd name but hey, to each their own. So I'm no stranger to false troll accusations. So go ahead, present your case here. I'm open to what you have to say, I'm open to that British admin from before doing a CU on me. She did a CU on me with the Cuddlyable3 accusation and she's going to come u pnegative again. I challenge you, have that same British admin do a CU on me and if it turns u ppositive, she may block me here and now. so, bring it on. Yes I'm being upset right now because after one accusation turned out false I'm going to be a bit annoyed when I get a second one. So would you. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 01:45, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
- I don't know who accused you of being Cuddlyable3. I do however wonder if you are User:Comet Egypt aka User:Nissae Isen's Man aka User:Eric Ramus. If you are, do note that your account is still blocked. Also, it's quite questionable if WP:CLEANSTART applies when you're continuing to edit the same areas (voice actors and the reference desk) and causing the same problems which got you blocked in the first place. Given that, you probably should desist from editing
using this accountwithout an account and instead log onto the Comet Egypt account and appeal your block. If you no longer have access to the Comet Egypt account or the email (if any) it's attached to, I suggest you create a new one and tag yourself as being an alternative account of Comet Egypt and appeal your block noting why you needed to create a new account. If you fail to do any of this, don't be surprised if someone blocks you as a sock. Nil Einne (talk) 04:46, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
Where are you getting these accusations from? perhaps some explanatino is in order. Look, anything prior to June of 2018 from any Canadian IP addresses is not me, because I moved to Manitoba Canada in June of 2018. Looking at the histories these date back ages and ages, to around when I was 13 or so years old judging b ydates. 199.101.61.34 (talk) 08:45, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
I used t olive in the UK, maybe Cuddlyable3 was a UK-based editor. I decided to get into voice actor edits from the UK because of my love of anime. I also used to from my UK IP addresses I remember edit things about video games, music, UK politics and loads of other topics. I do work for a charity organization and am away quite a bit, so my activity on Wikipedia is sporadic. so yes you may see where I am active for a short time, inactive for a long time then back to being active. You are linking me to people that appear to be really active. So like with cuddlyable3 a few years ago, you best explain where you are getting this from. Also remember, anything from a Canadian I Pprior to June of 2018 could not possibly be me because I was not even living here prior to June of 2018. I lived in several parts of England for a time. I leave on April 3rd to Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Angolla and will be back late may early June. thanks 199.101.61.34 (talk) 08:53, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
