Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edit to Greg Horn, as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edit had to be reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept unsourced material or original research. This includes material lacking cited sources, obtained through personal knowledge or unpublished syntheses of previously published material, or that which expressed an unattributed point of view. Wikipedia requires that all material added to articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable sources explicitly cited in the text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. If you have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. :-) Nightscream (talk) 20:32, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pacific islander

[edit]

Please see discussion at pacific islander.

It might help is you created an account. The main problem is that your English skills seem somewhat limited and you are not writing clearly enough for people to actually understand what you are saying. Edit summaries like this (Com on hw cn one ref.that a language does NOT hav a word?Ref.is only applicbl 2 show there EXISTS a word.U shuld learn mor frm our community works sch as Dai people whr u dn't need a ref. to shw that no word "Dai" in Thai. BTW u reverted me twice tdy) are simply unacceptable if you actually are serious about communicating. Maybe if you simply state what you are trying to say I or another editor could turn this into comprehensible English, and I know it is boring but referencing is very very important - maybe you also need to read up on some of the core Wikipedia concepts. Andrewgprout (talk) 20:43, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It should be "Come on my friend, how can one refers that a language does NOT have a word? A reference is only applicable to show that there EXISTS a word. You should learn more from our community works such as Dai people where you don't need a reference to show that no such word 'Dai' exist in Thai language. By the way you reversed me twice today." There's a word limit in the edit summary of Wikipedia so I deleted some words and used many abbreviations. An adequate English speaker might understand it quite easily but I don't know why you couldn't. --150.210.231.30 (talk) 01:02, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Tamyra Gray has been reverted.
Your edit here to Tamyra Gray was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.twitter.com/tamyragray) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. I would ask you not to keep adding content that is irrelevant to a section. The opinion of a single television reviewer is not a controversy. Any further attempt to make such edits would be considered disruptive editing. Hzh (talk) 21:44, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

IP editing

[edit]

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits to American Idol (season 15) while logged out. Making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of more than one account or IP address per person. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. It is also not permitted to use a different identity to evade the 3RR rule per WP:SOCK as you appear to have done. Hzh (talk) 02:23, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello 150.210.231.30, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Dirty Dancing (2017 film) have been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Rusty Springs (talk) 14:46, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
