Hi, I'm the one who implemented your albedo corrections at Venus. I can see from your contributions that you have been extremely helpful in removing scientific errors from Wikipedia over the past couple weeks, and it looks like you may have edited before that under different IP addresses. I just wanted to thank you and let you know how much I appreciate your work. As I'm sure you know, errors on English Wikipedia often spread widely, so the impact of correcting them is huge.

Have you ever considered creating an account? Here is a page that describes all the benefits. Accounts are free, provide more privacy than editing as an IP, and let you edit semiprotected pages (like Venus), as well as providing access to some gizmos that facilitate reading and editing. Also, even though it shouldn't be this way, people often take posts from usernames more seriously than they take posts from IPs. I bet that if your initial post about errors in Venus's albedo had been from a username, it wouldn't have been ignored for 10 days.

In any case, whether or not you choose to create an account, Wikipedia survives only because of editors like you, so I hope you keep contributing in the future :) A2soup (talk) 01:53, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

Atmospheric methane

Hi, thanks for your interest in Atmospheric methane. FYI, per our talk page guidelines, the page at Talk:Atmospheric methane is reserved for discussing possible article improvements based on our definition of WP:Reliable sources. You've meant well, I'm sure, but the musings at thread "it doesn't add up" have become something of a general discussion or forum and we don't do that here. That said, I agree there are major problems with this article. Most fundamentally, the sources are pretty old and overall the text is not cohesive. As you're interested in this subject, I wonder if you'd consider taking on the job of overhauling the article, in light of IPCC's Fifth Assessment Report, and other more recent literature reviews? A good goal is to write for a pretty simple level (I usually shoot for freshman level basic english). I'm not a scientist, either. But I do know Wikipedia procedures and culture and would be glad to support an effort with that sort of advice. NewsAndEventsGuy (talk) 11:58, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
