Speedy deletion nomination of The Dad's Army Appreciation Society
[edit]A tag has been placed on The Dad's Army Appreciation Society requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. WuhWuzDat 20:26, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
- I've declined the speedy deletion. The subject of the article should be notable enough to support an article. You now need to expand the article as much as you can as there are other methods of article deletion on Wikipedia such as WP:PROD and WP:AFD. Any editor is still free to list the article at either venue. If you really want the article to survive you need to work on it. Any questions give me a shout. Good news
[edit]Hello 07bargem,
Instead of being deleted, the article The Dad's Army Appreciation Society has been moved into the article incubator. The incubator is a collaborative environment aimed at helping new articles be brought up to Wikipedia's standards in an environment that is free from the pressures of impending deletion. To continue working on your article, please visit Wikipedia:Article Incubator/The Dad's Army Appreciation Society.
If you have any questions or need help, feel free to ask and I will be glad to help. Mjroots (talk) 21:04, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
- As the article had been moved into the incubator, I've added the improved text to the incubator article. I've also deleted the original title and protected it against recreation for now. The reason I've done this is to prevent having two different article being worked on in two different places. The article can be moved back to its original title when it is ready. In the meantime it can be worked on in the incubator. If Dad's Army interests you, there is a WikiProject covering Dad's Army articles which you may be interested in joining - WikiProject Dad's Army. Any questions drop me a line. Mjroots (talk) 21:47, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
- Nice to see you working on improving the article. You may want to read WP:CITE. As Wikipedia is an encyclopedia we need to state where we got our info from. Websites are referenced with {{cite web}}. It looks a bit daunting but you can generally get away with url, title, publisher and accessdate. If you need any help don't hesitate to drop me a line. Speedy deletion nomination of Dad's Army Appreciation Society
[edit]A tag has been placed on Dad's Army Appreciation Society requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please read the ANI report if you have not already done so, and feel free to comment if you wish. The article in the incubator has been deleted. Any questions please ask me, I dont bite! - Sorry for that, I read recently that Northern Ireland wasn't a country, so thought i would edit the relevant page. 07bargem.
- It's perhaps a bit 'controversial'; and changing the status of any part of the UK is best discussed first. You'll find that these have been decided by careful consideration by editors at those specific articles. I think you'll find a discussion of the status of constituent parts of the United Kingdom can be found at that article. Hopefully that will answer any questions you have about the 'special status' of individual parts. HTH Kbthompson (talk) 15:48, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

- You also need to make sure you are using the current maps, and I don't think that it's appropriate to use the former district councils (abolished last year) in the ward lists. DuncanHill (talk) 21:05, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
- I've corrected the maps, but I've just noticed that you have used the turnout figures from the election where you should have had the electorate. Please be more careful on articles like these. DuncanHill (talk) 21:25, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

FAC withdrawn
[edit]I appreciate that you are acting in good faith, but it is best if featured articles are nominated by people who have worked closely on them. In this way, they can give reasoned replies to reviewers and be familiar enough with the sources to act on suggested improvements. Someone who has not worked on the article can not provide this input, so the nomination may continue until opposition to it becomes so overwhelming that the article is failed; this takes away time from reviewers. While the Dad's Army article is of reasonable quality, it is not yet of featured quality, and principal contributors must be consulted before a nomination, as required in the featured article candidate instructions. [edit]Hey all, our assessment process is raring for moving out, and just needs a little bit of help from you. First and foremost, our Quality and Importance scales need to be completed per consensus, please check them out at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Anglo-Saxon_Kingdoms/Assessment and comment. Next, we have, as of my most recent assessments, 1122 articles that have not been assessed. All I ask is that each and every one of us assess ~10 articles each day you get on Wikipedia to speed up the process and let us really know what we have in our scope. Remember, we have Category, Template, Redirect and Disambiguation classes along with our more traditional stub through FA ratings, please use all of them and look for pages which fall within our scope. Thanks for all the help, Sadads (talk) 22:03, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

The article List of words for hello has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Wikipedia is not a translation engine or dictionary. Lists of the same word in different languages belong in dictionaries, not in encyclopedias.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fram (talk) 08:12, 17 September 2010 (UTC)

Hello.
I originally marked this article for deletion as original research, contrary to WP:OR. You removed the notice, stating that the article was not yet ready, and moved it into your user space. Fair enough. But you've moved it back into main space without addressing the OR issues so I've flagged it again. andy (talk) 23:41, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
