License tagging for File:Ben Yehuda by Robert St. John.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Ben Yehuda by Robert St. John.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 12:05, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:Stjohntribunedetail.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Stjohntribunedetail.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 14:56, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Jacqueline Susann. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Jayjg (talk) 01:33, 26 October 2012 (UTC)
Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to List of Jewish Nobel laureates. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Jayjg (talk) 01:34, 26 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi. I am sorry but I had to revert your edit regarding Mae West's mother. Unless you can prove with a reliable, verifiable source that she was, in fact, Jewish, the edit cannot stand. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources. This is not the first time this has occurred. Yours, Quis separabit? 07:38, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

Abdullah Azzam was not the first leader of al-Qaeda.
[edit]Stop posting false information. Osama Bin Laden was the first leader of the group. Azzam was a rival to lead the group. Just because he co-founded it doesn't mean he led the group. The article you provided even says Bin Laden was the clear emir.

- Not true - see [here - http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/07272007/alqaeda.html] for example: "Using this immense new fund, bin Laden and Azzam created a "Bureau of Services," which helped channel recruits for the jihad into Afghanistan. With Saudi Arabia and the United States pouring in billions of dollars worth of secret assistance to rebels in Afghanistan, the jihad against the Soviets was constantly gaining momentum.... When the Soviets pulled out of Afghanistan in early 1989, bin Laden and Azzam decided that their new organization should not dissolve. They established what they called a base (al Qaeda) as a potential general headquarters for future jihad.". Also, [here - http://www.brookings.edu/research/opinions/2011/09/11-riedel]. It seems they were both the founders. Azzam was the teacher and mentor in the first place, though it could have turned upsidedown somewhere down the road. עמירם פאל (talk) 08:14, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
- That second link doesn't even say he founded the group. Ali Soufan is more reliable than your sources. --Desperado1946 (talk) 20:36, 19 April 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for uploading File:StJohnRobert-1-.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Category:Jewish American mathematicians
[edit]Hi, I have reverted your addition of Category:Jewish American mathematicians from the articles Kenneth Appel and Michael Aizenman since neither of those articles states that they are Jewish. It is likely that they are indeed Jewish Americans, so could you add a statement to the article, with an appropriate source before adding the category? Thanks, Railfan23 (talk) 06:40, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
- Similarly for Maurice Auslander and Louis Auslander . It is important that readers can verify information contained in articles, indeed WP:V is one of our core policies. If the article does not have a sourced claim that the subject is Jewish, you really should not add Category:Jewish American mathematicians to the article. Please slow down and only add that category where the article directly supports the assertion. Thank you, Railfan23 (talk) 06:55, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
- Railfan23 Hi, please note List of Jewish mathematicians. Isn't it enough source? עמירם פאל (talk) 07:08, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
- Where the List of Jewish mathematicians provides a source (for example both of the Auslanders are sourced in that list as Jewish mathematicians), then the source can be copied into the article and used to verify the category. I've done that for Maurice Auslander and Louis Auslander and restored the category. You can do the same where the list has a source and the article doesn't. Good luck, Railfan23 (talk) 07:35, 21 July 2019 (UTC)

Jewish identity
[edit]Hello, עמירם פאל,
On Wikipedia (and most places), Jewish is not considered a nationality as Jewish people can be citizens of any country, countries are nations and nationality is based on citizenship. So, in the future, please do not identify Jewish people in different occupations in categories that are based on nationality.
For example, Category:Jewish anatomists should not be in Category:Anatomists by nationality because, again, Judaism is not a nationality, it is considered an ethnic or religious identification. The subject of Jewish identity has been the subject of debate for many years on Wikipedia and I hope you abide by the informal rules. If you have questions, I always go to Debresser who has been involved in these discussions for longer than I have been an editor here. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 21:49, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
