The WikiProject Biography Summer 2007 Assessment Drive is under way, and as we fight against the tide of unassessed human lives, it is inevitable that more are added as we go along. Unfortunately, it seems that quite a few of the 1,860,000-odd extant articles in this here Wikipedia are Biographies that aren't marked as such—even by the vaunted autobots.
Last month, I finally broke down and created the category for British Music hall performers... American vaudeville already had their category, and it was time. Here are some of those that already had articles, but no Biography tag whatsoever:
- Kate Carney
- Florrie Forde
- Beryl Ingham - not even her own article (see George Formby)
- Marie Lloyd
- Ella Shields
- Vesta Victoria
It's one thing to overlook Edwardian buskers. But here are some women who aren't of the music hall that were absent a Bio tag. Some are fairly important and/or very famous:
- Renée Jeanne Falconetti
- Marguerite Namara (pictured right)
- at least one Han Empress
- Ida, Countess of Boulogne
- Léonie Duquet
- Karen Carpenter
- Jose Collins
- Faye Smythe
- Else Mayer
- Pearl Starr
- Amanishakheto (queen of Nubia)
- Zauditu of Ethiopia (empress; several emperors left out, too)
- Eleni of Ethiopia
- Maria Montessori
- Isabella Bird
- Anne Jackson
- Baayork Lee
- Jacqueline du Pré
Folks, when you create, edit, or just come across an article about a person, female or male, it's a Biography.
Please tag its discussion page as such. → {{WPBiography}} ←
Otherwise, the Biography assessment team can't find them, except by sheer luck or curiosity.
Thank you.
That is all.
