- Jan Rómpsczi’s mythologisation of Kashubia and the Kashubs is the subject of the book Naród: wspólnota wyobrażona Jan Rompski do Kaszubów by Artúr Jablonskji, an assistant in the faculty of liberal arts at the University of Warsaw. Referencing Benedict Anderson’s Imagined Communities, the author argues that Rómpsczi imagined Kashubian identity as formed by… and a civic nationalism.[32][33]

As alderwoman of Amsterdam municipal council, Guusje ter Horst had the symbol incorporated into the redesign of the Spui in the 1990s.[37] Although, the later appropriation of the Provo’s legacy by the Government of Amsterdam to promote tourism in the 21st century, would be criticised by former members of the movement.[38]
