My name is Ian Mattey. I was born and live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I am retired. My career spanned 40 years, for most of which I was in management in one form or another. My wife is also retired. She spent the last 10 years of her career as an Event Manager with the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

One of our passions is supporting live music. To that end, we host house concerts under the name Wits End. We also do volunteer work for musicians under the name Wits End Artist Support Team (W.E.A.S.T.) to help them organize shows and tours. At the moment, this includes: The Small Glories and Scott Nolan.

We also love to travel, enjoy gardening, family time, cycling, and socializing with friends. My wife volunteers with several non-profit organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, and the West End Cultural Centre. I am also into building plastic models (teaches patience), Wordle, Sudoku, and genealogy. In the latter regard, I took over from my father after he passed in 2019 and during the COVID years discovered multiple branches of both my and my wife's family trees.
