Salvador Salcido was born on November 29, 1993, in El Paso, Texas. He didn't get his start in music until 2009 when he joined his high school's choir, which is to this day regarded as the best high school choir in the city.
His first taste in the commercial music scene was when he became the lead singer and keyboardist for a local band in early 2010. They were originally just a cover band and performed gigs at a small, underground venue. Following this, the venue eventually closed down and the band began recording its own new material. This proved unsuccessful, however, as the guitarists entered college and the drummer became a security officer while Salcido was finishing high school. Due to lack of time and inconsistent schedules, they entered an extended period of inactivity before quietly disbanding in late 2012.
After this, Salcido went solo in September 2012. With no experience in playing an instrument other than piano, however, he resorted to the next best thing, emulation. Taking advantage of his keyboard skills, he created songs using a MIDI program, Acoustica Mixcraft 6, to take the place of guitars and drums. In December 2012, he began receiving help from his former bandmates, Raul Martinez and Steven Olivas, with guitars and mixing.
