Leaving me a message

[edit]

The end of this page is always a good place to leave messages to me, and for most users, by far the easiest ways of doing that is:

  1. You probably have simulated file-folder tabs (not "browser tabs") at the top of the box enclosing the text that you are reading from: rectangles a little taller than one line of text, with the fourth tab from the left reading something like "+" or "+comment". Click on that tab -- or here.
  2. Fill in both the single-line edit pane with the title or subject of your message.
  3. Type your message for me into the larger edit pane below it.
  4. As the last line, type
    --~~~~
  5. Click on the "Show preview" button, and proofread what is displayed.
  6. If changes are needed, make them and repeat the the previous step (and then this one).
  7. Click on the "Save page" button, making your message a new "section" on this page.

Leaving followup messages

[edit]

If you previously left me a message on this page, and now you have more to say on the same subject, follow this link to this page's Table of Contents. If it hasn't been too long, you should find the section with the previous message from you, and to its right a link reading

[edit]
  1. Click on that "[edit]" link.
  2. Confirm (perhaps by previewing) that it's the same section as before.
  3. Type type more below the old message in the larger edit pane (below the preview, if any).

Sorry if I make a mistake on a tag, I have recently received help from other Wikipedians.

Thanks for signing up for this project. It is a very busy and active project with lots going on and we can always use more help and especially a fresh set of eyes. If you haven't done so already you might want to add Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft to your watch list as this is where much of the background discussion occurs. You may also want to watch Wikipedia:New articles (Aircraft) as this is where newly created articles get listed for peer review. Having a look over these new articles is a great way to get a feel for how things are done on the project and also most new articles need reviewing anyway. If you have any questions you can leave me a note or post at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft, either way you will get a quick response. - Ahunt (talk) 18:05, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

Be careful

Please do not instantly revert good faith edits without providing a reason. I removed an episode which does not exist and has no source for its existence. Why did you revert within a minute? Benjamin K. Stern (talk) 21:15, 17 October 2016 (UTC)

Hello! There is a DR/N request you may have interest in.

[edit]

This message is being sent to let you know of a discussion at the Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard regarding a content dispute discussion you may have participated in. Content disputes can hold up article development and make editing difficult for editors. You are not required to participate, but you are both invited and encouraged to help this dispute come to a resolution. Please join us to help form a consensus. Thank you! Robert McClenon (talk) 00:07, 18 October 2016 (UTC)

Please do not add yourself to the list of parties to a dispute if you plan to mediate the dispute. That just confuses. If you want to mediate the dispute on German Brazilians, thank you for helping. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:15, 18 October 2016 (UTC)
I didn't take a case that I was aware that you were taking. The only case that I have taken that is current is the India-Pakistan case. I was a little confused about the German Brazilians case because you added yourself to it, so I thought at first that you were a party. The mediator is not a party to the case, but the mediator. I apologize for any confusion. I will let you handle the German Brazilians case. Robert McClenon (talk) 23:39, 18 October 2016 (UTC)
By the way, if you post to my talk page, please post to the bottom, using the New Section function. The Teahouse is upside down, but that doesn't make them right, just left. Robert McClenon (talk) 23:39, 18 October 2016 (UTC)

Page reviews

[edit]

Can you please explain what you are doing. You appear to be adding messages to talk pages of editors who have recently created articles but without any regard for the quality or notability of the articles. You do not appear to have effected any improvements in any of the articles you have visited. None have been tagged for improvement and none for deletion. What exactly are you doing ?  Velella  Velella Talk   23:01, 18 October 2016 (UTC)

  • Please read WP:NPP and the associated pages on how to properly do new page patrol. (Also please know that NPP will soon be restricted in software to editors with permission. In my firm opinion poor performance now will not help you demonstrate the required compatance for that permission.) You are leaving articles with simple problems and, based on your page curration log, simply tagging things as reviewed. Sometimes as many as 11 per minute. You can not possibly be doing a thorough check of pages at that rate. Several editors have expressed concern with your page reviewing - please slow down until you get a bit more experience - say enough to know that tagging multiple articles per minute is not reviewing them. It does no one any good if others must go back and check your work. Thank you. JbhTalk 14:26, 19 October 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for reviewing Record Nations, WebCite.

Unfortunately Jbhunley has just gone over this page again and unreviewed it. Their note is:

This article reads like a press release.

Thanks for reviewing Sheffield beer week, WebCite.

Unfortunately Jbhunley has just gone over this page again and unreviewed it. Their note is:

Big chunk of text is a WP:COPYVIO from [1] which is linked in the article. Also the [edit source] in headers is a huge clue this may have been copied from elsewhere.

Thanks for reviewing Susan O'Malley (Artist), WebCite.

Unfortunately Jbhunley has just gone over this page again and unreviewed it. Their note is:

WP:COPYVIO from [2]. Do not mark articles as reviewed without checking the basics. See instructions at WP:NPP.

Information icon Hi WebCite. We appreciate your enthusiasm but please refrain from tagging articles for now - some maintenance tasks are not suitable for beginners. New Page Patrol requires significant experience, which you don't have yet, but if you have already made at least 200 mainspace edits you can enroll at the Counter Vandalism Academy to learn about keeping pages free of nonsense. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 17:26, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
