A little bit of info
[edit]In the Arthur C. Clarke novel Rama, the explorers encounter a kind of sea which appears to be a primordial soup. I always found that part of the story disturbing. Hence my username Soup de Rama. The truth is that I never enjoyed the Rama series. I hear that they are going to make a film of it. I'll skip that one.
Editing abbreviations
[edit]As you may have noticed from my contributions I have this obsession with the letter 'A'. I started off with acronyms and abbreviations but got bored quickly. But I will stick to the letter 'A' anyway. I found to my dismay that ass is edit-locked ! Why ????? I am hoping to form an A-Team of Wikipedians that only take care of the entries beginning with that letter. Anybody want to join ?
Update[17 Jan 2008]: I have decided not to edit abbreviations anymore. Most of my changes were reverted. My offense: overlinking
My removal of red links
[edit]I like to remove red links. At the moment, it is my understanding that red links are not really desirable - much like the "citation needed" tag. If somebody can correct me on this, let me know nicely - don't be a dick like some editors are. Hopefully, I am doing the right thing. I'd hate to undo my edits.
A little bit more info
[edit]What ? You want to know more about me ? Okay, I have a boring desk job. I also a big fan of War of the Worlds, whether it be Jeff Wayne's interpretation or Steven Spielberg's masterpiece (yes, I know that there a plot holes but it's highly entertaining). I have yet to see George Pal's version. I did get to see his take on The Time Machine which you can also read online here.
I am also a fan of Paula Marshall, a nice-looking brunette who's television shows always end up being canceled. She reminds me of Shawnee Smith.
War of the worlds
[edit]You can read H.G. Wells's novel online here. I have yet to see Jeff Wayne's live performance. I must still get the DVD. At one point I was listening to it everyday. If you share my obsession watch some youtube clips below:
