'Daniel M Vinci - aka Dan Vinci''' new article content ...
Daniel M Vinci is best known as an up-and-coming producer and engineer in the UK, working with many aritsts, most notably including Tinchy Stryder, Horace Andy, Florence and the Machine, Melanie Fiona, Example, Skream, Nervo, Griminal and Nitin Sawhney.
Upbringing
Born in October 29th in 1987, raised in Brixton, South London. Daniel regards Brixton as a "key influence" to his upbringing and music. Known for his optimism, ambition and pleasant character, he often recites that all his personality is down to his good parenting.
Music, Acting and Art
Teachers quickly took notice of Daniel's natural talent for acting, and had him playing lead roles in plays in Primary School. During the teenage years Daniel started taking acting more seriously and joined Italia Conti Academy, which led him onto taking part as a Slytherin extra in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets; Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban; Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He soon left the school though and focused on art and music. Attending Wimbledon College of Art (University of the Arts, London) after finishing sixth form, Daniel focused on Fine Art, particularly making short films and large canvas works, often raising thought-provoking questions and enjoying challenging the viewer to observe bizarre situations. After graduating, he then attended the London Film Academy to persevere his love of directing. His film career was cut short after being offered a place to start working in a commercial recording studio in London, where he started as runner and worked with artists and wrote material in his spare time. He quickly rose through the ranks as his organisational skills combined with musical ability and different talents made him an amicable person in the studio environment. Within a year he found himself engineering and producing full time for the studio, and working with many different artists spanning a mix of genres.
Musical background
Daniel's first musical encounter was learning to play the drums at age 10, who was inspired after sitting on his uncle's lap as a child, who had a vintage 60s Rogers kit that Daniel adored. He soon picked up the guitar at 14 when his love of music strengthened, so that when he couldn't play the drums at night time, he could swap instruments to continue his ideas and could capture his ideas in actual musical form, not just with rhythm. He then added to the list by buying turntables, inspired by his childhood love for breakbeat, hip hop and jungle music. Daniel didn't turn to the piano until 20, when he realised the piano in his house was a handmade pre-world war 1 piano imported by his grandparents, but never having any lessons.
Influences
Daniels early influences lies with films such as Last of the Mohicans, where the soundtrack would stay etched in his memory for years to come, and too wanted to make music powerful enough to inspire. Daniel openly states that his parents and grandparents remain the biggest inspiration unto this day, saying that the true stories and courageous acts of his family are "powerful enough to inspire generations throughout". Both his grandfathers survived the Second World War, one narrowly escaping whilst despite captured and led to a Nazi concentration camp, and the other being celebrated with the bravery award for risking his own life to save a friend whilst being under heavy artillery. Both grandfathers being businessman, one running a chain of bakeries, and the other a president of a hunting corporation, inspired Daniel from a young age that dedication along with the thirst for ambition can "achieve goals greater than we ever imagine".
