Morad Mirza, Hesam o-Saltaneh (Persian: سلطانمراد میرزا حسامالسلطنه English: Morad Mirza, Sword of the Kingdom; 1818 –1883) was an Iranian prince of the Qajar dynasty and one of Abbas Mirza's 26 sons. He gained prominence as a seasoned commander in the aftermath of the Revolt of Hasan Khan Salar (1846-1850). After re-asserting Iranian rule over Mashhad, Morad Mirza was declared the new Governor-General of Khorasan.[1] During the Second Herat War (1856), Morad Mirza led the Persian army,16 Infantry Regiments
