I have a great interest in Project Orion and other derivative or related methods of spacecraft propulsion. I hope to someday design a minimum-diameter low-yield nuclear physics-package for use in the propulsion of some interplanetary spacecraft. I have a workstation with 2.06 teraflops of double-precision computing power, and my workstation is capable of being upgraded if necessary to 4.12 teraflops of double-precision computing power.

Article Creatorship

[edit]

This is a list of the articles which I have created on Wikipedia. Although I am the creator of these articles, many other editors (would) have helped in the improvement and expansion of these articles, and credit for these articles is due to each and every one of them.

Barnstars

[edit]

Nope, don't have any yet. But I'm confident I'll get one someday.

Dream Server

[edit]

I dream of a server which meets the following specifications, and wonder if it is thermally and electrically possible...

  • Rackmount 2U Form Factor, not exceeding 800mm length
  • eight Intel Xeon Oct-Core X7560 2.26GHz/24MB/130W Processors - 64 Nehalem cores
  • 64 units of 16GB 1066MHz DDR3 ECC 4R RDIMM x4 with integrated Thermal Sensors - one terabyte of memory
  • Riser with three x8 PCIe 2.0 Slots
  • one Dual-Port 8Gb Fiber Channel Host Bus Adapter x8 PCIe 2.0 Card
  • Motherboard-embedded Dual-Port 10GbE Network Interface Controller
  • Motherboard-embedded SAS/SATA RAID 1/5/6 Support, with 6 embedded SAS Ports
  • four 3.5" Hotplug SAS/SATA HDDs
  • one Slimline SATA DVDRW Drive
  • one 5.25" Half-Height SAS Tape Drive
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition, with Microsoft HPC Pack 2008 R2 Enterprise Application
  • Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 Server Edition
  • three 1500W Hotplug PSUs, in an N+1 Redundant Configuration

Dream Nuclear Physics-Package Simulation Software

[edit]

I dream of a simulation-software which can be used to simulate the deformation and detonation of nuclear physics-packages, which will visually simulate deformation of all parts of the physics-package (fissile core, neutron reflector, explosive lenses and package-wall) upon detonation.

It must accept input of shape, size, dimensions, mass, etc. of the fissile core, neutron reflector, explosive lenses and package-wall; and output the following numerical values.

  1. tonnage (TNT equivalent),
  2. nett energy release (in newtons),
  3. nett force (in Pascals) at various distances from the epicenter,
  4. temperature (in either kelvin or celsius) at various distances from the epicenter,
  5. and percentage of fissile material wasted (i.e. which did not undergo fission).

It should be able to support free-form designing with the following materials.

  • Fissile Material:
    • Uranium
    • Plutonium
    • Americium
    • Curium
    • Californium
    • Protactinium
    • Radium
  • Neutron-reflector:
    • Uranium
    • Beryllium
    • Titanium
    • Tungsten
    • Osmium
    • Steel
    • Graphite
    • Gold
    • Lead
  • Explosive Lenses:
    • Trinitrotoluene
    • Cyclotrimethylenetrinitramine
    • Cyclotetramethylenetrinitramine
    • Hexanitrocubane
    • Octanitrocubane
    • Pentaerythritol tetranitrate
  • Package-Wall:
    • Titanium
    • Tungsten
    • Duralumin
    • Iron
    • Steel
    • Carbon

It would be a bonus if the simulation-software is able to integrate with AutoCAD Inventor.
