Philip van Lidth de Jeude is a singer, actor and composer whose interests are wide-ranging, including music, history, theater, film, cooking and literature. Receiving his Bachelor of Music degree from Curtis Institute of Music in 1974, he earned a Master of Music from Manhattan School of Music in 1977. After having a career initially as a baritone at Providence Opera Theater, Michigan Opera Theater, NJ State Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago and Wolf Trap Opera [1], among other companies, he transitioned to tenor and began a new career in Europe, singing at Zurich Opera, Wurzburg, Krefeld-Mönchengadbach, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Nuremburg, Deutsche Opera am Rhein-Düsseldorf, Heidelberg, Oldenburg State Theater, Eutin Summer Opera Festival and Cologne Opera in dramatic tenor roles. He was also featured as the Generalissimo in the Dutch film, Abeltje (English title: The Flying Liftboy), released in November 1988.

He has been listed in the International Who's Who in Music 1985 and the Dictionary of International Biography 1985. Retired from the opera stage, he is presently teaching at the Music School of Cary in Cary, NC.
