GenH2 is a hydrogen fuel infrastructure company founded in 2020 and headquartered in Titusville, Florida. It operates a lab in Exploration Park near Kennedy Space Center, a fabrication plant in Ruidoso, New Mexico, and has administrative offices in San Antonio.[2] GenH2 is building mid-size, modular hydrogen generation and storage stations to refuel fuel cell electric vehicles, power hydrogen-based generators, and serve as part of the supply chain for industrial applications of hydrogen in refining petroleum, producing fertilizer and processing foods.[1][3][4]
GenH2 is currently working with the United States Department of Energy, Shell, and the Kennedy Space Center in providing test instrumentation and development for large capacity hydrogen storage tanks that will be used to fuel the NASA Space Launch System.[5][6][7] GenH2's development for this project builds off the Macroflash (Cup Cryostat) test instrument licensed under the NASA Technology Transfer Program.[8] The chief architect of this technology, James Fesmire, was inducted into the NASA Inventors Hall of Fame in 2020 and later joined GenH2 as the Chief Architect and Chief Technology Officer in 2021.[9][10]
GenH2 plans to rollout 2,000 refueling stations in California and expand to 15 other states within the next 10 years.[3] As of April 2022, GenH2 has a staff of 32 employees and 30 contractors.[1]
