The Amerivision IRL Song Contest is a constest created by me as an attempt to recreate the Eurovision formula in the american continent, while using the correct timestamps for each edition, which means the competition begins in 1956 and goes all the way through the present day, all while listening to songs from each respective year.

All countries located in the american continent can participate of the event, however, the event started to happen in an era that most american nations didn't have access to television, so they gradually joined in as television arrived in the nations. Below we have a list of debuts per edition.
Anguilla originally confirmed that it was going to debut in the 2018 contest, even selecting Jahmings Maccow as its representative, however, they ended up withdrawing and never made an attempt at returning to the contest again.
The Falkland Islands have made several attempts at participating of the contest before, however, tensions with Argentina caused these debut attempts to never come true.
In Saint Martin, the contest is broadcasted by La Première Guadeloupe, which already represents Guadeloupe in the contest, for Saint Martin to debut in the contest, it would require for a new broadcaster to represent them, as done by Saint Barthélemy with FUSION TV.
In both countries, the contest is broadcasted by Bonaire.tv, which already represents Bonaire in the contest, for either of the countries to debut in the contest, it would require for a new broadcaster to represent them, as done by Saba and LBC.
Angola broadcasts the contest regularly since 1985 and even has a would-be national final program called Angolavisão on air since 2013, sending requests to participate of the contest regularly since then.
Australia broadcasts both the Eurovision and Amerivision Song Contests regularly, they debuted in Eurovision in 2015 as part of celebrations of the 60th edition, Australia didn't attempt to debut in Amerivision since then.
Cape Verde is one of the countries where Amerivision has the highest viewer rate in the world, they've been in contact with the ABU for a potential debut in the 2026 contest as celebrations for the 70th edition of the contest.
Due to the large amount of spanish speaking countries in Amerivision, Equatorial Guinea has broadcasted the contest since its early days, while it never got formally invited to participate, it heavily campaigned to debut in the 2003 contest with the song "Yo tengo la luz" by Hijas del Sol, however, Equatorial Guinea was never invited. There are speculations that they might get invited for the 2026 contest together with Cape Verde for celebrations of the 70th edition of the contest.
In 2005, as part of the celebrations for the 50th edition of the contest, the ABU and EBU made negotiations to do an exchange of delegations, allowing Germany to participate of Amerivision and Brazil to participate of Eurovision, the plans didn't go through.
After their 1980 participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, Morocco attempted in multiple occasions to participate of Amerivision, the most recent one being in 2017.
In many occations there have been rumours of Portugal and Spain being invited to participate of the contest, something that both countries showed interest in doing.
Although lower than Japan, South Korea also has an expressive viewership of the Amerivision Song Contest in its country, being broadcasted regularly there since 1993, with the country attempting to participate together with Japan in the 2015 contest.
In many occations there have been rumours of Portugal and Spain being invited to participate of the contest, something that both countries showed interest in doing.
A potential rumour of United Kingdom and the United States switching participations in their respective contests happened in 2016, however, this was denied by both broadcasters, although BBC has declared it had interest in participating of both contests during the 1980s.
Zambia showed interest in participating in the contest in 2023.
Much like Australia in Eurovision, Japan was also invited to participate of Amerivision in its 60th anniversary, due to high viewership of the contest in the country, this was supposed to be a one time only event, but Japan eventually stayed in the contest.
