Projects

[edit]

Among the important projects supported by the organization is the project to protect wild pollinators in Europe.

According to MONASIA management, the prosperity of wild pollinator populations is an important condition for the creation of healthy and sustainable green spaces and urban ecosystems. However, numerous scientific studies show that populations of wild pollinators (bees, hoverflies, moths, butterflies and beetles) in Europe have significantly decreased in recent decades. MONASIA supports the installation of signs to mark pollinator-friendly habitats in municipalities to prevent the mowing of pollinators' essential habitats. It also invests in educational programs for children and young people aimed at informing them about the role of wild pollinators in nature and their place in the urban environment.

MONASIA also hosted the Metaverse Conference "ESG Vocabulary Project" in 2023, aimed at building a unified vocabulary of concepts in the ESG field.

Criticism

[edit]

MONASIA founders Mikhail Nefedov and Ezio Mazzalupi were accused by the press in 2024 of providing false data and fraudulent real estate investments. Critics pointed out that Mikhail Nefedov is a figure whose activities in Monaco and Russia are controversial. Together with Rinat Abdulin, he co-founded four companies in Russia. One of them, Volgovyatstroyresurs JSC, acted as a subcontractor for the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He was also accused of collecting data on business representatives in the interests of Russian intelligence.
