Hello! I am NipitJ. I am new to Wikipedia—as of 16:09, 22 December 2024 (UTC)—but not to wikitext. There isn't much about myself I can tell you without feeling like I'm oversharing for what is an online encyclopaedia website; the userboxes should be enough for you. If it's not there, it means that it's something I am unable or unwilling to tell you. After all, we're here to improve the wiki, not socialize. Feel free to use the talk page or reach out to me in the Wikimedia Community Discord server if you'd like to contact me.
Philosophy
[edit]Do not suggest—or accept—that WP guidelines are absolute requirements or "laws." Conversely, do not claim that individual articles have "special editing rules" unless they are related to policies on biographies of living individuals or the Protection Policy.
Reverting large changes that are not inherently flawed, simply because you preferred the article's previous version or your own edits (e.g., claiming "previous edit was unnecessary" in the edit summary), is unproductive. Either actually improve upon said changes or let it go. If you can't improve upon the changes, maybe reflect upon why that is. Editing Wikipedia is neither for posterity nor for personal glory.
"Clarity" can be subjective. If I read something and the phrasing is unclear, taking multiple reads to understand, and it is not due to an insignificant typo, I should take the initiative to modify the sentence for clarity. Just because you understand the prior edit does not mean everyone else understands. When people find something difficult to understand, they do. The reader comes first on Wikipedia.
