The Clippers had left San Diego because of poor performance and also poor business. Five of the six seasons the Clippers had with San Diego were losing records. The clippers on the business side were also having many issues on their financial side. “The Clippers 1979-80 season produced less than satisfactory results, but they still managed to clinch another fifth place finish in their division. Their thirty-five wins and forty-seven losses displayed that the team was falling behind.”[1]. They believed there was no way to turn the franchise around in San Diego. So the team had moved to LA and San Diego’s days in the NBA had come to an end.
