KBR Chinese KBR Chinese is restaurant in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, which is known for its rather 'oily texture', and chewy chow-mein. It has many reviews, which are relatively equal, except for a few negative reviews. One of the most negative reviews, is what I am about to show you right now.
"This was theee absoloute worst (there are not enough words in the dictionary) to describe how appallingly bad this was and even as I sit here and type the reviews, I could come across as being melodramatic even O.T.T. But I assure you, I made a massive error in deviating from my normal Chinese takeaway in Money Hill which has been there since before I was born. The curry meat was disgusting, and chewy and reminded me of the mats you used to use at school when doing P.E. The grease on the curry was all over the top of it and had pooled in places across the top of the dish. This grease was also all over the Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls. You, as an informed person who has eaten Chinese food before, know how much grease these items should contain, so, with that in mind, you know you should see slight staining of the paper bags that the Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls are in. This grease has just sunk through and made the bottom of the paper bag wet. You could see it (the fat). The Egg Fried Rice sticks in the back of my throat (I can even taste it now and it is making my stomach twist) and clearly was re-used. You can tell in its taste when it is fresh and when it has been re-heated. I want to put the same analogy to the curry. The meat tasted like it had been reused. I and my nan did not even get a quarter of a way through eating this as it was disgusting. My nan ate in the other room to me so it is not as if we sat there discussing "Let's stop this is disgusting", I ended it and then went into my nan who had also had the same idea. If we had stuck to our own policy of "eating with our eyes" we wouldn't have even touched it. I would strongly urge Three Rivers District Council to check this place out for its hygiene or practices as something does not quite add up with this place. I say this because, for me to give someone a 5* is rare but equally giving someone 1* is rare as it can't be that bad. Well, as I found out it can be"
This is a very negative review, which showcases the bad about KBR, but there could also be good things about KBR, as I will show below.
'Been going for years. Not gourmet, but tasty, good value and quickly prepared. Especially like the KBR special rice, great value at just over a fiver.'
