Early life
[edit]Born Avery Timmins Fane Klenman, professionally know as Avery Fane, was raised with entertainment as a backdrop to his youth, in Montreal, New York, and Los Angeles. Entertainment, however was never at all a serious interest. Although, as explained in a 2002 Interview, it's always been a passion. It's said that the thought of being a "fizzled out child star" didn't appeal to him. Avery was studious in both theatre and film studies for much of his youth, and was producing local level television in highschool, as well as a radio career that started with ORGY's label D1 Music of America, and spread to a great freelance career, especially with Avery's life in Japan (1998-1999 and 2001-2009), allowing for many related television and radio productions to come to be. Avery attended both high school in Canada as well as in Chiba, Japan (渋谷幕張教育高等学園). University was also a two pathed approach, starting at the University of Victoria, in British Columbia Canada in the faculty of Pacific Asian Studies, and finishing University at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (立命館アジア太平洋大学) in 2004, after accepting his headhunted offer from 2000, with a BFA in Asia Pacific Sociology and a minor in International media production.
Career
[edit]While in university in Canada, Avery hosted a variety of radio programs, as well as continuing his theatre work from high school. When Avery moved back to Japan in 2001, theatre was tentatively put on hold until 2002 when he stared to dabble again with local theatre, in the city of Oita, Japan. At about the same time, in collaboration with Beppu city's Tombo TV, Avery was hired on as a reporter and local TV personality. Within a year, Avery had produced and started in 45 episodes of a tri-weekly TV program, "3-minute talking", in which Avery delivered three episodes a day covering the basic language and culture of a new country each week. Next was "Very Talking", an American TV talkshow formatted program wholly in Japanese, introducing foreign members of the community who also, completely in Japanese, discussed matters occurring in society, the world, and all facets of creative life. This show was a first for small town Beppu&Oita, Japan. Not to mention Japan as a whole. Avery decided to really "return" to acting in 2005, after achieving his own esoteric personal goal of being a "Salary Man" in Japan was fulfilled. Avery never really stopped acting, over the years, for that matter. However it was in 2005 that he returned completely to the industry that he feels the most comfortable in. In the years that followed Avery moved to Tokyo and was signed with a variety of free lance agents, while continuing with his prior Tokyo agents from 2002. Initially Avery returned to do small guest rolls on the popular TV show "Smap Station", as he had commonly done whenever schedules allowed since 2002. It didn't take long, however, for Avery to secure recurring roles, characters, guest positions, and leads in the thriving Japanese industry. In 2008, Avery returned to North America, while keeping residence in Japan at the same time, to both be closer to his family, and to pursue his career further on home soil. Avery moved out of Japan in 2009, however he is constantly back doing small projects, and recently wrapped a feature film, ザ・温泉, scheduled for 2012 release

[edit]Avery has worked with multiple bands on an indie level in both North America, and Japan. Most known, was the 2002-2004 project encompassing two bands, "Rend0rphine" and "Kissing Silver", which interchanged members and were more or less sister bands in the Visual Kei/Industrial/Alt-Metal Genres. After all the members went their separate ways (literally, to four different countries) in 2004, Avery continued his work solo, relying on session musicians and sampling (largely due to his busy actor life), and played his final solo show in 2005's "Rock in Tomisato" annual citywide rock festival, located in Chiba, Japan. Avery left singing for some years after contracting SARS and nearly losing full use of his voice. Avery has recently, as of 2010, started working with an international band, FIX , who are currently on hiatus after a management dispute.
