Caveat: I spent two minutes looking at WP:EGRS which I've never read before, so my response is primarily based on what I actually do when writing articles. I've written a good number of biographies but simply look to similar articles when adding cats. And I know Ser Amantio di Nicolao or someone else will come by soon enough to add whatever they think I missed of value. I also spent 30 seconds looking the version of Winona LaDuke linked in the quiz.
Current categories:
- Category:American economists - keep
- Category:Female economists - don't care much since she is in American Economists, I guess, though I'd rather delete and also add to Category:Economists.
- Category:American environmentalists - keep
- Category:American non-fiction environmental writers - keep
- Category:American non-fiction writers - keep
- Category:American women novelists - delete, add to Category:American novelists
- Category:Women writers from Minnesota - don't care since I've added her to Category:American novelists
- Category:American social democrats - keep, i have no idea what this is.
- Category:Minnesota Greens - keep
- Category:Green Party of the United States vice-presidential nominees - keep
- Category:Female United States vice-presidential candidates - uh, maybe? -- but definitely ADD to Category:United States vice-presidential candidates, which I can't believe doesn't have individual people listed, yet has a subcategory of 49 women, most of which (all but 2, I believe) would have been candidates of parties with no political power.
- Category:United States vice-presidential candidates, 1996 - keep
- Category:United States vice-presidential candidates, 2000 - keep
- Category:Native American politicians - ok, but ADD to Category:American politicians, which I also see has no individuals.
- Category:Native Americans' rights activists - keep
- Category:Native American women activists - I guess, if she is an advocate for women's rights.
- Category:Reproductive rights activists - keep
- Category:Ecofeminists - delete, I don't care if its a real thing and I'm uninformed, its stupid.
- Category:Native American novelists - ok since she is also in Category:American novelists
- Category:Native American writers - keep
- Category:Jewish American writers - holy fuck who invented this woman? ok since she is in Category:American non-fiction writers
- Category:Jewish American politicians - ok since I've added her to Category:American politicians
- Category:Antioch College alumni - keep
- Category:Harvard University alumni - HARVARD SUCKS
- Category:Ojibwe people - is this a race? I dunno, keep.
- Category:American people of Russian-Jewish descent keep
- Category:People from Ashland, Oregon - keep
- Category:People from Los Angeles, California delete, add to Category:People from Los Angeles, only because PBP would be happy.
- Category:1959 births - keep
- Category:Living people - keep
- Category:Green Party of the United States politicians - keep
- Category:20th-century American novelists - keep
- Lastly, I would in a dream world fix categories so you could simply pick the intersections you wanted. So if I wanted to take Category:Native American writers and only see the women in the category, I could subdivide at a second level like that. And also for religion, orientation, etc. So if I wanted to wanted every gay white female plunge for distance athlete from Zimbabwe born before 1890, I could. I am sure there are 10,000 reasons the software doesn't currently do that. But I am sure it will one day.--Milowent • hasspoken 03:24, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
