The Nixon Theatre
[edit]The Nixon Theatre[1] was built in 1910 and later closed in 1984 located in the city of Philadelphia. The architectural design of the Nixon Theatre was made by John D. Allen and held 1,870 seats. It was located on 34 S 52nd Street, Philadelphia, PA. The theatre was brick and stone with a two-story arched entrance and a bow window at the top. Now, the site is currently Payless ShoeSource and Rainbow Kids. Back in the day, Jimmy Bishop, an old, popular, and local Philly radio DJ helped run Arctic Records and organize different performances in this theatre.[2]
