The festival also features independent student theatre companies formed by current university students or recent university graudates [1].

About
[edit]FAST is a non-profit organisation established by Ben Schostakowski and Belinda Locke. Both Ben and Belinda are recent graduates of the Queensland University of Technology's drama degree, and were formerly involved in student theatre through Vena Cava Productions, the student theatre company of the Queensland University of Technology [2]. Initial discussion about the festival were begun by the 2008 Vena Cava Productions executive committee.
As part of the company's relationship with QUT, the FAST festival team includes primarily QUT undergraduate students who are able to undertake roles within the festival to obtain credit towards their Creative Industries or Drama undergraduate degrees.
