Dr. Nurul Momen (1933-2014) was the Vice-Chancellor of the Dhaka International University (DIU) from 2006 to 2014. During his tenure as the Vice-Chancellor of the DIU, he was awarded Asia’s Best B-school Award by Singapore-based CMO Asia in 2010. He was also honored by the World Education Congress on behalf of 88 countries for his distinguished contribution to education in 2012. He was a Professor and Chairman of the Department of International Relations of Dhaka University for 31 years until his retirement in 1995. He also served as a Rotary Ambassador and Visiting Professor at Colombo University in Sri Lanka. He was the first Professor of Human Rights in the country. Dr. Momen is credited with a number of publications, especially on the role of Bangladesh in the United Nations.
