Roti Sai mai
Roti Sai Mai (โรตีสายไหม) is a Thai dessert influenced by Indian’s culture, since Roti root is from India. This popular sweet orginated in Ayutthaya and has since become a must try when visting this historic city.[1]

1957's
In 1957, Mr. Pia Seangarun, a roti vendor, went back to his home to make more sugar syrup for his Rotis. Sometimes when doing this, he accidentally go for too long and the sugar became too hard. So he experiment by stretching the sugar to be small threads, soft enough to be used for his Rotis. This ultimately, is the birth of roti sai mai.[2]
1963's
In 1963, Mr Pia Seangarun rode his lover’s bicycle to sell his newly created Roti sai mai. He put them into a box drilled with coin hole for customer to use. The box is design to activate a spinning wheel once a coin is inserted, which will land on a random number. Whatever the number is, the same of amount of Roti-Sai-Mai the buyer will get.[2]
1977's
To be able to satisfy his customers, in 1977 Mr.Pia Seangrun improved his original recipe (which includes wheat water, and salt) by adding new ingredients such as milk, coconut milk, sesame seeds, and grains.[2]
