Bibliography
[edit]This is where you will compile the bibliography for your Wikipedia assignment. Add the name and/or notes about what each source covers, then use the "Cite" button to generate the citation for that source.
- Luke, Learie. 2007. Identity and secession in the Caribbean: Tobago versus Trinidad, 1889–1980.[1]
- This is a book published by a university press, so it should be a reliable source. It also covers the topic in some depth, so it's helpful in establishing notability.
- Galeano, Gloria; Bernal, Rodrigo (2013-11-08). "Sabinaria , a new genus of palms (Cryosophileae, Coryphoideae, Arecaceae) from the Colombia-Panama border". Phytotaxa.[2]
- This is a peer-reviewed scientific journal, so it should be a reliable source. It covers the topic in some depth, so it's helpful in establishing notability.
- Baker, William J.; Dransfield, John (2016). "Beyond Genera Palmarum: progress and prospects in palm systematics". Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society.[3]
- This is a peer-reviewed scientific journal, so it should be a reliable source for a specific fact. Since it only dedicates a few sentences to the topic, it can't be used to establish notability.

- This article will be helpful because it gives statistics and explains what people go through when they come out, the bullying that comes along with being in the LGBTQ community, and discrimination.[4]
- This article will be helpful because it lists a timeline of LBTQ history and a deeper description of the history of the community is needed in this article.[5]
- This article will be helpful because it lists statistics and the article is recent.[6]
- This source talks about the mental health of the lgbtq community. It gives details about the statistics of treatment, the disadvantages they face, and some of the foundations that were created to support the community.[7]
- This source goes into extreme details about the struggles the community goes through on a daily basis, so I will use this source along with the one above this to enhance the mental health section of the Wikipedia article.[8]
- This article helps me add to the section I added about Workplace discrimination.

Proposal
[edit]While reading over this Wikipedia article, I have thought up some changes I could make to improve it. My first source from "Psychology Today", will be used to improve the "Parent and family-based LGBT treatment and education" section, I have already added a statistic about the use of illegal drugs being connected to not being accepted in their family's eyes. I have also used this source to add to the "School" section about bullying in schools. In the future, I will use this source to add a section/part about workplace discrimination and I will also use the last article in my bibliography called "LGBT People’s Experiences of Workplace Discrimination and Harassment". Next, from the article "LGBTQ Rights Timeline in American History" I am going to add to the "History" section. When I did my first evaluation of the article, I noticed the vague description of the history of the LGBTQ community. This article, while it is about the psychology of the community, a part of the psychology is the hardships they have faced/still face. Third, the source "The State of the LGBTQ Community in 2020" is updated, so I plan to use the statistics they have listed to add to the neutrality of the article. It will have facts that cannot be construed as someone's opinion. Fourth, in the source, "LGBTQ+ Communities And Mental Health" I plan on using the "Prevalence" section to enhance the "mental health" section of the Wikipedia article. Finally, in the source "Mental health challenges in the LGBTQ community", I am going to use the sections about how Pride betters the community's mental health.
