Generation America (Gen-A) is a dynamic member-based organization for the over-50 generation. According to the organization's mission statement,[1] "We believe in our natural right to freedom over our own lives, liberty and property. We also share a serious thirst for life and the unlimited human potential. We believe in the free market and the American dream." Generation America's team is working tirelessly to communicate their ideals and to fight for free-market solutions rather than government intervention.
History
[edit]Generation America was created with a sense of urgency. As we enter this new age there are signs that our Government is spending our hard earned tax dollars at an rapid rate. They are trying to pass laws that could severely affect our health care and they are looking at huge tax increases in carbon taxes, VAT taxes and others. These events can create havoc in the markets and threaten the financial security of the over 50 generation. These policies are very damaging to those of us on fixed incomes.
At the same time, our government is taking over businesses and attempting to nationalize our health care system. They are creating huge, cumbersome bureaucracies to run our lives.
As we have throughout our lives, we made a decision to act—to do something to ensure that we were heard. From this decision, Generation America was born.
Advocacy
[edit]Generation America is known for being ,[2] "the voice for those who have earned it" and has spearheaded a mission to speak out in support of individual liberty and freedom for all Americans. Generation America's team is building a strong presence in Washington which is advocating for free-market solutions rather than government intervention to the current challenges we face. Generation America is helping their members make sense of the important issues affecting them today by providing current, accurate and reliably-sourced information they can trust.
Freedom
[edit]Personal Freedom is the cornerstone of life in America.[3] We are fighting to protect our freedom from government interference, government takeovers and government control of our private lives. We believe in a government that answers to us; instead of a government that demands answers from us.
Healthcare
[edit]This is the single most pressing issue the over-50 generation faces today.Generation America is advocating in favor of a free-market health care system where individuals have the freedom to determine the level of healthcare they want, the doctors they want, the medicines and treatments they want and make their own end-of-life decisions.
Fiscal Responsibility
[edit]The new administration is spending money at an unheard of rate. The deficit is growing at a frightening pace and the National Debt is being pushed to unimaginable levels. Generation America works to promote lower taxes, the creation of jobs through the private sector, support of small businesses, cutting the national deficit, working towards a balanced budget and putting an end to government bailouts.
