Biography
[edit]Beginnings
[edit]Vittorino was born in Barranquilla on June 10, 1988. From childhood, he began to develop his passion for acting, moving to Bogotá after completing secondary school to study dramatic arts at Caracol Televisión’s Acting School under the direction of teacher Laura García.[1] In 2008, shortly after arriving in the Colombian capital, he had his first major opportunity in television, playing Jaime Rugeles in Caracol Channel's telenovela Oye bonita.[2] His next television role came in 2010 when he portrayed Adolfo Auchaibe in El cartel 2: La guerra total. That same year, he appeared in the period telenovela Tierra de cantores, playing the role of Rosendo.[2]
2010s–present
[edit]In 2011, he joined the cast of the historical telenovela Amar y temer, where he played Carlos Ortega. A year later, he portrayed Alejo Zawaddy in Caracol Television’s telenovela Amor de carnaval, inspired by the popular Carnival of Barranquilla. That same year, he appeared in another television production based on the Colombian Caribbean coast, the telenovela Bazurto, where he played Candelario Díaz. Between 2013 and 2014, he portrayed Carlos Valderrama, a historical icon of the Colombian national football team, in the biographical television series La selección, which was based on the life stories of some of the most famous footballers from Colombia's golden generation, such as Freddy Rincón, Faustino Asprilla, René Higuita, and Valderrama. This role earned him widespread recognition in Colombia, giving significant prominence to his acting career.[3][4]
In 2016, he joined the cast of the Colombian science fiction series 2091 and, a year later, played the role of Carmelo Cuello in the biographical telenovela Los Morales, based on the lives of Colombian singers Kaleth Morales and Miguel Morales.[5] That same year, the actor made his film debut, joining the cast of the American movie ExPatriot, and took on his second lead role in Colombian television, portraying Vicente Bula in the RCN Televisión telenovela La luz de mis ojos.[2]
In 2018, the actor moved to Madrid, where he continued his acting studies and appeared in the Spanish television series Vivir sin permiso, playing a Colombian hitman named Freddy.[6][7] Later that same year, it was announced that Vittorino would be part of the fourth season of the popular Spanish television series Vis a vis, where he portrayed a convict nicknamed "Caimán."[8]
In 2020, it was announced that he would be part of El robo del siglo for Netflix.[9]
In 2021, he joined the second season of Desaparecidos, playing Rubén Ramallo alongside Michelle Calvó, Elvira Mínguez, and others.[10][11]
In 2023, he joined the daily series 4 estrellas on La 1 to portray Paolo Romero.[12]
