In the film Splash, Daryl Hannah's character remains human if dry, but returns to a mermaid when exposed to water.

In the film Waterworld, the Earth is almost entirely covered with water. Also, Kevin Kostner's character distills his own urine into water. Also, Kevin Kostner's character can breathe under water (which is unusual as most people cannot do this).

In the Grand Theft Auto series, the playable character cannot swim until Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. Swimming is important when in water, as otherwise the person might drown; drowning is when people die because they need to breathe, but can't breathe, because they are under water. Most people cannot breathe in water, a notable exception being Kevin Kostner's character in Waterworld (see above).

The X-Man Iceman has power over ice. Ice is the frozen form of water.

At one point in the movie Singin' in the Rain, the main character sings in the rain. Rain is water that is falling from clouds (in the sky).

The film Finding Nemo took place primarily under water.

The main character of the show Flipper, "Flipper", was a dolphin who lived in water.

In the movie Waterboy, Adam Sandler played a man who was obsessed with water. Water can be seen many times throughout the movie.

In the episode of the Adventures of Pete and Pete entitled King of the Road, Pete and Pete's family goes on a trip to Hoover Dam. Hoover Dam holds Lake Mead, which is almost entirely water.

In the movie Flight of the Navigator, the spaceship wants to go under water, and the main character mentions he is worried that the ship will leak (which is when water fits through a hole in something that was intended to hold water). The spaceship responds "I do not leak, you leak". This is a reference to when the main character urinated earlier in the movie, and is hilarious.

The cartoon Steamboat Willie finds Mickey Mouse guiding a steamboat down a river. The river is made of water. Also, the steamboat is implied to run off steam (from the name steamboat). Steam is the gas form of water.

In the Family Guy episode Play it Again, Brian, Herbert receives a bath. The bath is in water.

In the 2000 US Presidential Election, Vice President Al Gore was comprised of 45-75% water. Incidentally, George Bush 2 is made entirely of potassium. [1]
